There's a aftermarket GPS (Galactio) that can be integrated via interface for Audio 20 unit. It's terrible in the graphics but usable in my opinion. I hated it, gave it up & went for a Comand unit.

Terrible in graphic? Maybe the aftermarket upscale the lower screen size resolution to fit 8 inch that why it doesn't look good.

I will reject CNc if they try to retrofit the gps using resolution for smaller screen and upscale it to 8 inch.

Hi All

 

I just took delivery of my CLA 180 about 2 weeks ago and noticed that following electronic or program issues:

 

1) The Passenger air bag on indicator on the dashboard should go off few seconds after starting the car engine but mine stay on

 

2) The back or rear parking sensors does not give amber warning and beep sound even when the car is almost touching the wall or pillar

 

3) The red triangle anti collision signal keep appearing very often even without other cars or objects near my car while driving

 

4) Few occasion the car engine doesn't shutdown even in the " Auto Eco mode "  when stopped at the red light junction.

 

5) When the engine shuts down in the Auto Eco mode, the air con compressor also shuts down and the air flow isn't cool anymore.

 

6) Left side rear mirror memory position cannot be set permanently which goes back to its previous position after car restarts after shuts down.

 

Actually I am quite disappointed with the purchase of my first Merc.  I am sharing the electronics issues which I am facing and is wondering if any of the members experience any of these problems as me.

3 is normal my ride so have it.

5 is normal too usually i off away eco mode, this eco your ride more easy to spotlit

4 Eco mode is you need to step hard non brake that your screen show hold then the car will go on Eco mode, Btw your air con must be cold if not don't have. if I not wrong.

 

1,2,6 you need to find back CNC for the trouble issue.

Hi Phil,

 

I guess the best if to quickly feedback to ur SA for advise. My SA responded promptly when I feedback my CPA issue (if u hv seen my earlier post). Electronic issue is not that difficult to resolve since it is software driven. Do correct me if I am worng.

for 1/2/6 better to visit the service centre to check.

 

3. the red signal will appear based on your car speed plus the distance of the car in front of you.  

4. the eco mode wording should be green instead of yellow to trigger the engine switch off. (green when battery and car temp is met)

5. normal as aircon is running on battery mode instead of engine if not wrong.

6. have you saved the settings to memory?

1. The airbag icon is on for a while and it will goes off... But the passenger airbag wording is always on, think this is a feature to tell you it working

2. the sensor will only beep when it very close, I tested this and find this design not very good.

4. The auto engine can be turn off by pressing the button with A. Alternatively you can learn to depress the brake and learn it biting point to off engine. If I softly step on brake the engine will not goes off and if I step with firmly on brake the engine will goes off.

5. When engine cut off the aircon will not be cold this is a feature and it intended that way.

Thank you and truly appreciate for sharing your comments and views pertaining to the electronic problems I faced on my new CLA 180.

 

One thing for sure is that the reverse parking sensors are not effective at all which can lead to misjudgement of your parking and cause damage to your car as 1 of our friend Vinfang who already experience this damaging his taillight. 

 

I also confirm that my car left side rear mirror memory adjustment cannot be adjusted after doing a simple sticker marker experiment.  I wonder if anyone else face the same problem as me on this.

 

The other issues seems to be common among the rest of you so will have to do with it.

 

Already contacted MB tech advisor on my issues and now waiting for their advice on rectification but was told will take a while....sigh...

I just learnt recently that the sensor are based on visual and the beep only happens when very close as last warning. In front of the dash there is this short strip that will show left and right bars. 1 bar means close, 3 bars means get close. At the rear you need to see through the rear view mirror you will find the same short strip will left and right bars at the middle top.
