I doubt COE will be lower in the future. Barring a global economic meltdown, shrinking COE supply dictates price must increase. Of course the transport chief may have a different view. Another factor will be rising demand from an increasing population.Since there is no GE within the next 4 years don't expect to be thrown any bones either.

My take on this is that the political price for hyper COE inflation will reach an unacceptable level and the powers that be will be forced to abandon or modify the current system.
