GPS for those of us without Comand

Recommended Posts

(Don't say dont have ah, I did a search for past threads about GPS then I start thread one ah)

So, my GPS mobile app is a POS. Then yesterday I bio BM's garmin like sibeh sui!

Got any lobangs or advice (size, accuracy, price, what brands to avoid)? Usage I would say would be quite heavy.

Gum siah many many in advances!

is there another spot to fix the GPS unit? I don't want to place it at the aircon vents there leh - like in the way of things.

I got the COMAND online, but I haven't got any idea how to use the Navi function. After I search for the destination using Postal code, I don't know how to set it to "destination" and let it navigate...

Anyway on the GPS, I read that Holux have this live traffic feed that allows you to reroute your route real-time in case of traffic jams.

Btw, aaas.com.sg has gps on promo. Currently on Holux, frankly the Singapore Malaysia maps are really good, but tend to lose signal easily and reaction time a little slow. Especially when travelling at a higher speed. But at the $$$? What can I ask for?

Purple dinosaur, which garmin you using now? I just went to check out 50LM, 2565 and 2465. there was another one that i was shown - super slim, metal casing - but it didn't come with the free lifetime map updates.

where do you mount yours? i took a look at the stock holder - not visually very appealing leh

The gps is kind of user unfriendly. For easy search, go to town and select Singapore. After that, go to street and select the place you want to go. Then select unit number. Then select start.

This is the easy way out instead of trying to figure out which town it belongs to.

If you know the building, select All POI and type the building name. Then start!

seems like a smaller gps unit + bean bag is the way to go

Bean bag not recommended leh. When u hard cornering the bean bag will fly a butterfly. Of course if drive like a wussy will be fine. Aparts from this, the color will fade after few months later. If you want i hv a used set let at a brother to brother pricing!! Lolz
