Changing from 17" to 18" rim

Recommended Posts

Hi, just order a c-class, c180. I would like to upgrade my rim from 17 " to 18" and would like to seek fellow advice ..

1. Any shops to recommend that is willing to take in my so called new rim and tires?

2. How much does my so called rim and tires is worth ?

3. Wat is the price for a new sets of 18" tires, assuming same brand .

Thank you.

I have not collected my ride yet, but have already chosen my 18s rims and traded in the stock rims. I promised to dirve down to the tyre shop on the first day of car collection for the swap. Most tyre shops quite standard, take in our 17s stock rims/tyres between $800 - $1000.

So if you intend to change rims, better to make your decision and plan before getting your new ride to get the most out of the trade in.

3. 225/40/18. F1A2 $250-260, CSC5 $280-300 (same as OEM Mercedes tyres), CSC3 $250.

Those prices are for a set of four right I assume? Cos my previous ride on 20' tyres and they cost thereabouts for Each tyre. Don't know e market price for smaller sizes.

This morning went to cnc ubi as my 2 weeks old c250 coupe pull left, thought that it is the same issue as my previous pi w204 by changing the camber bolt. Very very disappointed when the se told me that it is not cover under warranty and have to pay $400plus for the alignment and don't know how much for the four camber bolts JUST BECAUSE I'VE CHANGED STOCK 17" RIM TO 18" AMG RIM FROM OUTSIDE RIM SHOP. WTF...... I told the se since like that, I better get it done at outside workshop. So fellow bros, please take note.

My case is not tyres shop issue. W204 is like that will slightly pulling left even if it is new from factory. This can be solve by changing four camber bolts if I've not mistaken. just because I've changed to 18" amg rim, they told me no warranty coverage, my se even though ask me to change back to stock 17" rim 1st before sending in then it is under warranty.

Wheel alignment should solve the problem. But if cnc is charging $400 just for alignment job, it's ridiculous...

bang table can one.. that's a stupid reason la. changing rim does not affect the camber. was your SE drunk when he/she told you that?!

He told me that the factory camber setting for my c250 coupe with 17" rim is for 17" rim spec. If you changed it to 18" rim, the alignment sure out. Worst part is have to leave the car there 1 whole day which outside workshop can complete within 2 hours. Bang table no use one, small issue better get it done outside than waste time there. Time is precious. Hahaha
