Why we can't take delivery of our brand new Mercs like our friends in USA???

If you are from USA and taking delivery of your brand new Mercedes Benz in Stuttgart, Germany...

Leave Saturday from your home city, arrive next morning in Stuttgart, Germany. Use a taxi voucher for your trip to the Hotel am Schlossgarten in the center of the city. Relax, have dinner at the restaurant in the hotel, and enjoy some excellent Swabian foods, beer or wine. Monday morning, after their generous breakfast buffet, check-out and use your second blue taxi voucher for your transfer to the factory Delivery Center in Sindelfingen. Upon arrival, a concierge will take your luggage and store it for you until later when you take delivery of your car.

The receptionist will now introduce you to a delivery specialist. While they're preparing your documents and paperwork, you could take the factory tour which lasts about 95 minutes. Afterwards, use your 65 Euro lunch voucher for a sumptuous lunch at the factory restaurant. From there you proceed to the waiting-room in the delivery salon. Finally, the great moment has arrived, when your name is called and a delivery staff technician takes you to your shiny new Mercedes-Benz. When you're done drooling over it, he or she will explain all its features. Then, after the concierge put your luggage in the trunk, you're ready to depart.

The staff gives you directions to the Simovic Shipping Office (formerly E.H.Harms), just a few blocks down the street. They are the official shipping agent and will arrange for home shipment to the USA. (Don't know whether they can arrange to ship to Singapore) Preparation of the paperwork takes about 15 minutes. If you are not going to drive the car but ship it home rightaway, be sure to take out the First-Aid kit and warning triangle from the trunk and put them in your luggage, or you'll never see them again.

Put nothing in your car for shipping that wasn't already there, as U.S. Customs will surely remove it permanently! On some models, the COMAND Navigation system that's built into your car may not yet function in Europe. In that case, you will be offered a Garmin GPS by the delivery staff. You can leave the Garmin with the shipping office in the city where you drop off the car at the end of your trip.

The factory will then shred your 440 Euro credit card deposit slip. It's important to have a GPS, especially when you cruise around in the bigger cities like Stuttgart and Munich. It's a time-saver when you are trying to find your hotel, unless your spouse or "significant other" is a born navigator!

There are 11 drop-off locations around Europe, where you can leave your car at the end of your vacation: Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Nice, Geneva, Zurich, Munich, Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Bremerhaven. There is no extra charge for leaving your car at any of these locations, and their offices are open Monday through Friday, but closed on the weekends or holidays.

In addition to these drop-off points, you may drop your car off in various cities in Europe for an extra charge, just ask. Dropping your car off at these locations is easy, as long as you bring the paperwork that was prepared by Simovic in Sindelfingen. Make sure not to lose the Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin, the most important, almost irreplaceable document, it's your pink slip from Mercedes-Benz.

Fly home after your holiday in Europe and wait for your Mercedes to arrive.

This sounds like an excellent vacation + delivery service and is worth exploring for the bona fide car enthusiast although I'm pretty sure the AMG division will already have a premium delivery service already in place!

Basket, when i picked mine up, it was parked among the cars on the L3 carpark. SE couldn't find it at first and had to sweat in the carpark for 1 hr while doing all the pre-delivery checks. C&C sometimes CMI.

My first mercs also collection at L3, being a newbies i lan lan. Then after both mercs, i DEMANDED to collect at proper collection point after kpkb & point to them what the F standard is this? This is one of the reason i change SE. In my opinion, if cant do a proper handling over must well dont sell car!! I went thru other marque & mercs is the worse standard when collection is at MSCP.

For newbies do take note on this & bang table on the spot!! Or tell them in advance to do a proper hand over else ask them deliver to yr hse for collection.

When Mercedes-Benz was sharing the same building with Mitsubishi many years ago, the delivery was in Pandan showroom, the one along AYE. I remembered collecting my car in the sheltered open room in the car park, among the Mitsubishi cars.

About the collection of car in Stuttgart, the collection area in Customer Center is a big round hall (very big high ceiling hall that accomodates more than 10 cars). The cars will be parked around the hall center waiting for customer to collect. It is certainly a nice place to collect car and go for a long drive in the autobahn and German countryside.

The only problem if we can collect our car there is we would be driving on the right side when everyone is driving on the left in Germany.

Haha....thot i was the onli one who kena a CMI SE who can't be bothered to arrange for a proper delivery. Not expecting anything too fancy but juz feel abit anti-climax coz b4 buying everything swee-swee at C&C. Buy oredi kena demoted to 3rd class citizen liddat.....kns.

Even now collection at L3 carpark??? what kind of standard is this? I remember when I collected my peugeot, it was the only car the center of a big well lit round room on the 3rd floor. Before entering this room there is a lounge area and a children play area, so that children and your guests can keep themselves occupied while the SE go through all the details of the car with you. You can take pictures, do your flower water thing, inspect the car for dents, etc. In-perfections cannot escape and will be easily spotted with all the bright lightings there. Went you are all satisfied, the door will open towards the multistories carpark and you can drive awy from there.

When get my previous B170 it was delivered in the proper delivery bay. But my C180K I get it in L3 carpark, actually SE wanted to shift it to delivery bay but I have to wait since 2 bays are used dand 1 bay one owner comes late. So I don't want to wait and we go to level 3 and get the car there finish and no need much intro since since this my 2nd merc only couple special feature explained by SE on the way drive to L1.

So if you collect your new car don't come late or someone may end up in L3.

both me and my fren collected our car at mscp.. sad to say.. mine at level 1.. my frens at level 3... btw did anyone went to level 4. if ur there u can see the 'huper optik' film are installed there..... omg... totally nothing to say about that... how can film be install at this kind of environment.

My experience with landy collection is like going to balestier karaoke club scene. They will bring u to a room with disco lights & nice lounge setting. Yr dream car is on a revolving stand for u to get admire & get "wet". While u are still high, next thing u know the favourite pantry not panties auntie will bring u a nice cuppa of kopi siew tai with cookies, tea or soft drinks of yr choice. After viewing & a gd hand job, a chio bu photographer will take picture for you with yr car & yes is FOC!! U thought this is the end? No!! They pass u a copy of the photo before they send u off. THIS IS WHAT I CALLED SERVICE!! But hor, anything u mods on a landy they will void yr warranty even a LED bulb change
