Hi All,

Notice theres lot of W212- E200 & E250 but not much on E300.

was it not a good idea to have E300?

i was still thinking to get a C class or a E class. But i love the size of W212 n thinking of getting the E300 cause worry that the power for E250 cannot really move the W212 "well".

Pls advise :)

Thanks & Best Regards

Jeff :)

Welcome aparts from the power the diffs also in the features & function. Hp modding nowadays is spoilt for choice. Go & test ride both models then decide which one suits yr needs & wants.

IMHO,

If you can afford it - go for the E300 but not the E350 cos they have not upgraded the E350 as the same engine as the S350 which is another 30hp more than the current E350.

There's no replacement for displacement.

The E300 with the well proven M272 V6 Engine is very quiet & "creamy"

It's the same engine pulling my current 2.1 tonne ML300 :)

It's also the same engine in the current R300L, S300L, SL300

Just like buying PCs or property, always get what you can afford. If you can, get the highest displacement model. Other than the engine, usually there differences in equipment levels.

Also, no one has ever complained about their car being too fast, but everyone complains about underpowered cars. Choose wisely!

Speaking from experience as I have a E280 endowed with a 3L V6...I will vote for the E300 if I have to change my car. I tried the E250 before and in my opinion, the E280 was quieter and more powerful all round....but that could be stating the obvious.

How much more will be the difference in road tax for buying diesel engine cars.

IMHO

Now with the new diesel tax it's now narrow the diff.

The 2.2L CDI with have road tax near to a 3.0L petrol engine.

The CDI torque is very suitable for our city driving!

No one will complain overpowered car. Only underpowered. I'm one of them.....lol

Diesel cars for people with high mileage to justify the much higher road tax. For people like me that travel less than 15,000km a year, doesn't make economic sense at all. But the torque from diesel cars cannot be quantified!

Choose wisely......Especially at such high prices......lol
