new C-class

Guest angela

Recommended Posts

hi everyone...i'm new here

my parents are keen to get the new C-class...unfortunately i am overseas so i can't go and see the car with them.

is anyone here familiar with the differences between the C180K and C200K ? the price diff is about $15k but i am not sure what exactly warrants this 15K diff in price.

any other comments? which would be the better buy in ur opinion.

in terms of bodykits, are there good aftermarket ones available or should we go for the AMG one. rough price of fixing bodykit incl paint?

thanks

CBlack, this is for you to answer!!

Bolt, welcome to this club!

there are lots of kits for W204!, Barbus, Lorinser, Carlsson, ART, MKB & etc...

its all depends on each likings, do some homework thru the net, see which styles you like.

for the difference of C180 & C200, I heard one of them is the memory seats? can someone correct me if i'm wrong? or any C&C guys?

The C200 has more horses although both the C180 and C200 share the same engine type.

C200 comes with full electric seats with memory setting, other than these, i don't see any difference.

After driving the W203 C180 for all these years, my opinion is, if you can pay that extra money, go for the C200....for that extra convenience of the memory seat and the horses.

Go for C230, V6 + 7G!

that's quite disappointing if the $15k is just for a little more HP and memory seats...that doesn't sound like good value to me.

C&C website does not list the w204 C180K

bro, kits and freebies aside, performance wise, the c200 have 20% more horses and 1 sec faster (0-100) than the c180, not sure abt the cost of MB mods, but typical performance mods will cost you a couple of thousand $ and headaches if you intend to upgrade your base model later on. but if you are not particular about performance, then i suppose the c180 will suffice...my 2c :)

Diff bet the 200 & 180 ? get a sincere SE and he will tell you the difference not on print.

In the 203, the 180[Classic] has only partial leather[where your butt & back touches] for the whole seat while the 200[Elegance] is full leather. That's one of the diff I recall. there is a lot of very very subtle differences choking the bill up by another 15k.

PI is usually UK specs whereas C&C is tropical (Sg) specs. If no substantial saving from PI, better buy from C&C for a peace of mind.

any diff between the PI and C&C C200? i tik both r priced ard the same price.

PI only throw in AMG kit. Some will throw in panoramic roof. Not attractive enough I find.

Overall still find the W204 a bit steep. If the command, agility and the keyless are standard, that would really be something.

on my way to work....stopped at a traffic light....

then in my rearview mirror, i saw this beauty approaching, gliding in..

dressed in black, it was an image of controlled power, precision, and grace.

the lights turned green, and the black merc pulled alongside...i was giving it admiring glances, and this was only in stock form....it was indeed beautiful....making me feel envious and excited all at the same time....as it pulled away, it was a C200....swee!

.... must go to the showroom later....

nice plate too...SGX6*6*G

I just got my C200. I must say go for C200 for that extra 20% hp.

the new C class is actually heavy, you can feel the weight. hence at 156bhps, it can be a drag.

already i thot the 184 bhps is insufficient for C200.

also the C Class engine is quite rough at times, hence more power can smoothen things a bit.

can the rest of the bros feedback, what tyre do you use? I was given Dunlop Sports MO, and it sounded very noisy on rough expressway, which I thought was quite loud and disappointed given that it is a merz...thought this new C Class has excellent suppression of wind and road noise, but at 100km/h, at normal rough road, the road noise is annoying. any advise?
