A-class 180, options?

it depends on whether they have ready stock, which for A180 is unlikely, & when shipment for orders arrive in SG from Germany

for my case, got COE in mid-May, car arrived in SG port in late Jun, earliest car delivery in mid Jul ... so roughly 2 months

your SE shld have indicated approx. delivery date in the sales agreement ?

No stock, so you got your bid in mid-may but you got it only mid-jul. Indicative is Sept and Oct. I think it will be Sept then

Bad news to potential buyers of A200, (I'm one of them as CAT B COE dropped ....)

SA just told me NO MORE ORDERS.

as apparently Germany factory has stopped production.

Makes sense as the new A_Klass facelift orders have been set up and set for delivery to European showroom in Sept. (you can check the local European MB website, most are with the facelift)

while ASIA is still on the current model

SA told me no dates set for local SG orders taking, earliest is sept/oct

so if any Bro have any more updates till then, kindly help spread the info

Did you manage to get a date for the current PFL A180/A200 arriving in SG?

Was told by my SE to expect Sep/Oct, but no definite date...

Would u guys prefer to wait for the facelift units or the current one? Everytime I buy car, few mths later FL come out .. Hahaa

Looks aside, can we assume that new FL will definitely be better than the current ones in terms of equip? Like an upgrade? Maybe basic style model comes with default LED headlamps?

Bro,

this is a decision that you need to take on your own (wife, gf, family)

there is no right or wrong per se

some people like to take end of life production - clear stock - cos CHEAPER - sitting in factory / carpark for a long time... but this is not the case for our A_Klass 180

while other people rather wait for face lift - cos got new techology, new lights, bodykit, etc ....

a few questions that you need to consider

1) what is the new price ? will it be more expensive? i read through many reviews / articles, all say "same/similar" price ... so technically speaking "See & See" should not increase the base model too much

somemore, if buy during the "sneak preview / pre launch weekend" 90% will have special promo.

2) how much time do you have on your old ride? can you sit it through for the next 3-6 months? (for my case, i still have 2.5 years)

3) as CAT B COE has dropped so much, for my case, i rather get the A200 instead of A180 ... but really no more stock, so i will wait for the new facelift instead. - due to the improvements

below are two articles which i think are quite useful for potential buyers of the new facelift

For those on the sideline still not committed, not a bad thing as COE prices are on the downward trend. Can also consider and have a look at the new BMW 1 series which will also be launching soon as well.

i went to see that one, during the "sneak preview" for 116d

a few things to take note

1) ONLY THREE CYLINDER - 1496cc car

2) Not Petrol Version - only diesel

3) Backside only can take 2 person only

4) max power  85 (116), 0-100 is 10.3 sec...much slower than A_KLass (pre facelift)

5) only CAT A car in BMW

So meaning that that the facelift will only reach our shore next year?

that i really dun know, but my guess is that cum Sept/Oct, i think See & See can start taking orders / VVIP sneak preview ... cos like what the articles say by Sept, European dealership will get the new facelift models...

at this time of writing, UK Benz website is still showing the old A_KLASS, so if UK not yet receive, i strongly doubt SG will be any faster

any clues when ?

my best advice - keep checking the ASIA Benz website, cos once HK/CHINA shows the new facelift model, means SG wont be too far behind ...

whether SG will be among the "first in ASIA " to receive new facelift? - we need the old birds here, who have prior MB cars to share their experience

Although i am not a RACER or one that beat red lights,

personally i find this two numbers one of the key factors that i will rather wait

The A180, for example, still produces 90kW and 200Nm from its 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, but Mercedes-Benz claims fuel use (at least on the European cycle) has dropped for the seven-speed dual-clutch auto model sold here, down from 5.8 litres per 100km to between 5.1 and 5.4L/100km. Its 0-100km/h sprint time has dropped from 9.1 seconds to 8.6sec.

The A200 petrol retains its powered-up 1.6-litre four-cylinder turbo, which still has 115kW and 250Nm, but it too has seen 0-100km/h improvements (was 8.3sec, now 7.8sec) and a drop in consumption (was 6.1L/100km, now between 5.1 and 5.4L).

If u see gd promo price from AD then likely is clear stock for new FL. Ha

Of cos FL will be slightly better mah.

New model or FL will always be with better specs and technologies. But there are still better benefits of models at mid or end of their life cycle (eg: improved accessories such as bigger rims, improved instructment clusters, etc) which might not be available in newly launched models especially on base version of the same model as company will want to differentiate and justify the differences in prices of the specs of the various versions.

yes that is true to most brands, but for our current A_Klasse is there any improvements based on current specs (RIMS tyres, etc ) vs when it first launch 2-3 yrs back?

does any Bro remember / recall ?

More or less the same.

Style line will be 16-17 rims, half fabric seat, updated steering wheel, single CD player etc.

The led rear, bi-xenon and twin exhaust prob will be for urban only.

if you are talking about the new face-lift model

you can try this out - i really like the new SINGLE GRILLE LOGO -  :D  even for base model A180 style

based on the new look, i really dun see myself getting more custom bodykit ... (maybe change RIMS  & tryes if they come into SG as 16 inch )

also another important fact to take note, is when "See & See" SA stop taking orders for A180 ... (they stop A200 liao)

that would give another strong clue that they may start preparing for the new FL models

Just the colour vs B&W instrument cluster screen I think...

IIRC, when I test drove the A180 beginning of this month, it was already with colored instrument cluster screen, and also confirmed with SE that my car will be having it.

Should be other aesthetic changes along with regrouping of engine types for the new FL?
