For sharing & referencing. Had to change rear tyres and install 1 new rear rim (bought from C&C).

Got the new pair of rear tyres (conti 225/40/18) from MBM Wheelpower/KBS Motorsports and installation done by them. Total including tax $577.

About 10mins drive away from me so I went there. Assisted by Eugene. Very helpful, patient and very good follow-up. He made an effort to call back to explained that he gave me a wrong quotation and that the price should be lower instead of just charging me based on 1st quotation. I appreciated that honesty.

He also gave me some tips too on what to look out for if needed to change the tyres in the future and advise on when to rotate.

Hi Guys,

My 2010 W212 has the message "top up coolant" message.

I have topped up with coolant but within a week the message appears again. I topped another time hoping it will solve the problem. However the message appear again.

Have you encounter this message ? Any good workshop to resolve this ?

Thanks in advance !

Just solved the coolant issues ( hopefully ). Cost $1.2k !

Tank return pipe $40

Coolant pipe $18

Oil cooler assembly $520

Coolant $30

Air intake hose $250

Labour $280

Don't know the market price except coolant that cost $8 in shell. My car needs 2 bottles so will be $16. Charge $30.

Any bro can share experience ?

Oil cooler replaced? Pardon my ignorance but how is it connected to engine coolant which is inside radiator system?

Additonal item they found and suggested replacement. Some plastic items in engine compartment look and feel brittle when we examine the coolant reservoir in the owning.

You can always have C n C take a look and give a quote. At least the problem is pin pointed by qualified specialists. The you can go outside to source for other quotes to rectify the problem.

Doubt it would cost a lot for C n C to investigate the issue....unless very complicated

Dear Seniors,

My ride is w204 5yrs C180 CGI and out of warranty.  There is a low tone buzzing sound coming from front left of the bonnet whenever the engines are on.  What are the possible defects and any reliable mechanics to take a look?

Oh gosh... we had the same problem. My ride is same as yours but 4 yrs. At first couldn't figure out where the sound was coming from and had to visit workshops so many times to find out its on the front left side. Both both cnc and chip soon couldn't figure out what the root cause was... this car plagued with so many such unknown problems and walking time bombs after warranty was over.

Once your car is out of warranty, going back to cnc for diagnosis in-order to get a quote will incur a diagnosis labor charge. Should you decide to let cnc repair for you the charge will be included into the total bill. If you go elsewhere after getting the quote, you will be slap with this charge. I was caught with such an unpleasant surprise as a result of the ECU time bomb problem and since it is engine related, the charge came up to be $450 for telling me a diagnosis I already knew and in fact had been telling them the same diagnosis from day 1. Save yourself from this unnecessary grievance.

Whenever you send in your car to cnc, they will give you a pink slip (for handing over to the security guard later when you drive out of the premise) which contains a whole bunch of T&Cs, photos of SAs and a table showing all categories of charges corresponding to different parts of the vehicle.

Hence I am cautioning this approach. Maybe end of the day it boils down to the element of luck which SA you got. Whether is it an asshole who only disclose to you after you tell him you'll be getting more quotes elsewhere or an angel whose having a good day and chose to turn a blind eye letting you walk away, but still, why subject yourself at a faceless corporation's mercy?

hi all seniors, i have just collected my car today fr cnc. Millage was 72k. Since my last experience with the amk workshop was unpleasant, and i wanting to claim the radiator tank which is leaking, so i decided to went back to cnc yesterday.

the SA told me i miss my 60k b+ service, so he advise me to do it.

i just agree to it.

today when i collected my car all my above complain abt squeeching suspension was gone.

cnc replace the following under warranty for me.

1) pair shock absorber for the front

2) radiator water top up tank

Atf was replace under B+ package.

Now my ride is as good as new. So satisfied.

Total damage 2.3k.

Hi bro, do you have the breakdown on the shock absorber replacement and labor? My car got the same screeching sound at the left side too.

Ok, just to clarify what I wrote above, to be fair to cnc, other workshops also impose diagnosis charge as well. Granted, time was spent on the diagnosis so it is only fair that we as consumers pay for the work done. Nothing to lament about it here. The charges isn't the point of contention. As an example, autospritz charges $60 for the same diagnosis, and they are very transparent about it upfront. I believe what frustrate us as consumers is the horrible services.

Allow me to answer my own question. Found an earlier post where bro "Carcrazy" provided this quote:

1)  Front shock absorbers $300 x 2 = $600

2)  Radiator top tank with sensor  $120

3)  Engine mounting $150 x 2 = $300

4)  Gear box mounting $60 ( This item wont crack till 200K)

5)  Suspension bushing.. Many different one but max or most costly one is $250 (the lower arm complete).

Sounds good then. Will buy the parts from stockist and to autospritz for the labor.

Guys,

Which is cheaper chip soon or auto spirtze? Thanks.

Though I agree with another bro's comment that service, quality of work and location are also important factors to consider, but to answer your question directly, autospritz allows you to buy parts from stockist and they provide the labor to fix it for you while chip soon don't (they sell you both parts and labor), so from that perspective autospritz is still a little cheaper. And whether is the "cheaper" cheap enough to warrant one's extra effort to go through the hassle of buying parts yourself, it is still subjective and only yourself can determine if it is worthwhile. So far from my own experience if were to compare apple with apple, going with autospritz on both parts and labor has been alot more pleasant experience than chip soon which again is far better than cnc in that order.

Thanks for sharing bro.... agree that there will be a diagnosis charge and CnC won't come cheap but I was coming from the angle that the issue problem is causing severe enough issue to get specialist diagnosis... rather from outside layman. Main point being that CnC cannot escape from their diagnosis if it's found to be something else.

But then again this is entirely up to individual owner's preference and also comfort level.

IIRC for my 60k servicing, I opted for sending the car to C&C for the servicing without changing any of the wear and tear parts. I then went to Golden Link Auto for parts and Autospritz to install said parts.

All in all I paid about 1.1k to C&C, parts was about 800 and Autospritz about 200 for labor... Saved a bit considering C&C quoted me about 1.5k for the servicing without batteries, wipers, filter etc. Also must consider that the C&C parts are exorbitantly priced...

Downside is that I got to spend about 3 days to get all things done partly due to my busy schedule. 2 days for servicing, another 2 half days to get the parts and get it installed.

will post my receipts if I can find them. :)
