How to get ripe of the stench??

Recommended Posts

Help!!! Last Sunday before the GTG, my son spilled half the cup of milo in the car. 1/3 on the seat and the rest on the carpet.

Initially i thought nothing serious so just wipe off the surface of the carpet however towards the evening, the car start to have very strong stench like rotten food.... imagine you smell an overnight milo...

I went to pandan loop yesterday to request for an interior cleaning however was advise that the milo may have sipped into the carpet and normal cleaning cannot get it off. Solution: remove the carpet and send it for dry cleaning, Downtime: 2 days, which i am reluctant. Anyway, i requested to proceed with the interior cleaning as my rear seat has stain every where.

Collected my car last evening and the stench still there!!! When i reached home, i can smell the stench on my shirt!

I sprayed fabris on the carpet last night but seems useless.

Anyone can advise how to get ripe of this smell apart from removing of carpet? This option will be my last resort if no other solutions.

Dry-clean lah - it will be a more thorough job since it's the carpets now. your options are limited. Suck it up for 2 days!

The only method I am aware that works is to go for interior cleaning at Autoglym. Expensive but it works. Yours is only milo. Mine was overnight puke. Car came back smelling like a charm.

.

Overnight puke?? Omg!! Why dont you clean it right away? Sending drunken girl?? Lol

Try going for Steam cleaning. It will remove interior odour.

I used to go to this workshop at AMK. Not sure if he's still doing steaming though.

I actually experienced the same situation you face in my old car. Only difference was I was the one who spilt the milo. Tried every method, air freshener, wash carpet, charcoal but still unable to remove the milo smell from the car. Apparently, the milo has sipped into the floor of the car and there's no way I could remove the carpet layer to wash it. Had to live with the smell for a while. Found out that letting the car air under the hot sun helps.

Lesson learnt: NEVER allow anyone including myself to consume any form of food or beverages in my car.

Ya, i think parked under the hot sun may help a bit. My worry is the liquid under the carpet...

Liquid under the last layer of carpet was what caused my car to stink.

My previous car happens when i bring my mom to the market and water of the raw fish drip into the carpet behind the boot and was stink like hell.. After park under the hot sun for 3 days and i spray it with airfresh after that, the smell started to go away..

Can try it out first before money comes into the picture..
