Does valet quote u when stopping infront

Recommended Posts

wonder if every one faces same treatment~

of all valets including 5/6 stars hotels, they always quote me price if i asked for valet service~ i felt interesting & funny~

ritz carlton - drove e-class, was quoted valet fee but suggested self parking at car park!?

regent - drove s-class, not quoted but directed to car park!?

conrad - no qns asked, greeted with smile & promptly drove off for parking (frd came late told me valet was circling everywhere in my s-class~)

chimes - quoted both valet or self parking & i replied sure but he only reversed beside gate~

is it my age or my car age huh~? :D

Ah, i dont really face this kind of situation when it comes to valet parking. Once my mind is made up, i will drive up to the booth, hand them the key and ask for a slip. But the best valet so far is the MBS hotel.

Chubby, you must wear a dour face that says 'linpeh got money but don't ask me' look. Step out of car, hand key over and just walk away. Attitude helps a lot, I don't know why but it does.

Unless no choice, I prefer not to valet. Unless like Thomson Medical centre or Mount Elizabeth Hospital, LL. Always feel worried if my car will come back in one piece or not.

Talking about this, I have a joke (sort of, lol). Was working in previous company, we had a event in a hotel(can't remember the name). We invited some customers. There was this guy driving a pretty mod up 520, he came early and there were still loads of parking lots, but he insisted on valet parking.

So he drove up to the valet counter and requested valet parking and park at the entrance. Guess what, the guy on duty told him to park at the CARPARK!!!

Came back and complained to me big time. Said hotel service lousy, why choose this hotel. When we left, we saw many cars parked at the entrance.....Porsche, Ferrari, BMWs (min 7 series). He was embarrassed......lol

Normally ask you want valet parking, you just get out of your car lor. I never had your problems. The only fuk up experience was drove a F430 to chijmes. Was told to valet park myself and pay $10. I'm doing his work and still have to pay him.

MBS is the best, free valet. Anyway u mean u too young or too old? I'm 31 now.

alot of exotic car owners prefer self park... maybe thats why he assumed you were one of the majority....

i see, but many times the public places i go like vivo, center pt or liang court requires self parking~ and i dont like the idea of going round searching waiting for a miserable lot~

or handing the valet a 20 dollar together with your keys might help as well

sometimes, it's better you park your own car. they may not have the skills to park your ride. remember the incidents at raffles hotel and marriott?

treat that 10bucks as a 'jaga' fee, at least you know won't kena scratched by some SUV/MPV/taxi.

No choice lor. He just point and I just park lor. I doubt he jaga my car. You see those in MBS, drive lambo also no sweat, somemore their valet lots are quite cramp. Left my handphone in the car so went back to get and see their cramp cramp valet lots. They allocate a special place for valet which it is not seen by public's view.

I like the tag poor man super car....lol actually not as hard to own a Masaji compared to a Lambo or la la li, but the maintenance of the masaji can KILL!!!!

Maintenance of masaji is killer? Please tell us more! Initially thought of getting that but decided not to as I fear the maintenance may be too much to bear...

Sorry bro, I'm poor man, can only contribute some experiences from my clique of friends driving these cars. They kpkb about the clutch and gearbox. Seems like it's as famous as the DSG, but then these are previous models. Maybe they have improved?

U can check out some threads on Masaji too. Need real owners here to give more feedback. I'm camping here.

I'm interested in Maserati too. Thought of changing to one next year, but heard too many different comments on it. Both good and bad. Any Maserati owners out there care to share some exp? I'm camping here :)

Oh, because mine is keyless, and the ignition slot has a key fob. So when i valet, i will always hand them my key.

Why need to be discreet when parking? Anyway go MBS can be for so many reasons, great shopping place, great food, great casinos, great clubs. There is a period after 7pm, I can only be found there. I can give you 101 reasons to get yourself out of trouble if you are caught but if you intend to hold your female companion hand and walk around in public's view, then you better try to be as discreet as possible, until now I cannot think of a good reason for holding other ladies hand.

Now the "in" word is female companion, so it is not so wrong anymore. MBS valet one very nice, don't need wave hand, they open your doors, greet you politely, ask you whether you are pizza member, so you tell them whether you are pizza hut or KFC. Some nicer ones will wish you good luck.
