Hi all, I'm a 2-3 months owner of a C180 and was wondering if anyone noticed that fuel efficiency improves with driving in S mode vs C mode.

I hit about 15l/100km driving in C mode, and about 13l/100km when in S mode.

What about you guys?

For W211 E200ML (YOM 2006), my experienece : (smooth driving, without "flooring accelerator" at traffic junction)

- "C" mode : CBD City driving - 10 to 12 L/100km, City (cross Singapore on expressway) driving - 7.5 to 8.5 L/100km, Cruising <140km/hr at NSHW - 8 to 8.5 L/100km, Cruising at >150km/hr at NSHW - 8.5 to 9.2 L/100km.

- From my occasional "S" mode experienece, fuel consumption is higher, but I don't have data yet.

Bro Oshioyi,

It seems high to me : "15l/100km driving in C mode, and about 13l/100km when in S mode."

  • Do you do a lot of "hard driving" ? ie : flooring accelerator ?
  • When decelerating to 40-20km/hour, any engine "sluggish" feel ? If so, check your engine air filter condition.

Hi, I'm on an W204 '07 model, about 45k on mileage. Got it 2ndhand 2-3 months ago.

From the replies in the forums, mine seems high not sure why.

No, I drive pretty conservatively. Mostly with a toddler in back car seat, so for sure no hard flooring.

Car drives pretty smoothly. Upcoming service in Aug/Sept so will have it checked at C&C coz got 1 yr warranty from dealer.

Am using Esso's 95 btw.

My FL C180K, stock 17 wheels normally pump 260. Find that the best milage obtained is when driven around 80km/h on E mode. During reservist drove from east to west on PIE with moderate traffic at about 80km/h, gave me about 7.5L/100km.
