You guys think those places are safe (i mean - no convoy?)

Is it a myth that u shouldn't drive more than 100km/h for new cars until your engine got "runned in"?

I may not be an expert on this, but I wouldn't use my brand new car to embark on a long-distance trip that requires driving at high speeds for a few hours, not to mention the uphill climb to Genting! Those are situations that place higher stress on your engine.

Sure there are people who do that, but mostly on rentals.

KL is relatively safer compared to JB. from my experience its quite save to drive there. of course make sure your car is parked in view when you're at the more deserted neighbourhoods..

Not sure about genting though..

Engine wise, the SE at c&c did mention that our cars' engine has already been run in at the factory in germany. So he said engine wear isn't the issue, but its more of the parts that haven't been run in for our normal road use. would agree with mmb here and probably give your ride at least 1 mth of sg road worthiness before driving in...

mmb, high speed but low rev = no extreme wear and tear, and little stress on the engine? ???
