Driving up to Penang is quite safe, especially in convoy.

9 hours is a safe slow drive. I've done 5 hours before, at night.

No need to feel pai seh lah. Don't worry, our emphasis is on having fun (safely). We haven't laid down any plans yet, but most likely we'll convoy up in groups, make a few pre-planned stops for fuel + food + TCSS. After we arrive at the destination we'll have some events that we do together, like meals or special excursions. But there will definitely be plenty of opportunities for "own time own target" activities. We're very informal, so no one should feel obliged to follow the itinerary to the dot.

Given that we may have more time on this trip, perhaps we can plan for stops at certain "points of interests" for MB enthusiasts. e.g. Sepang? Meet-up with our KL Kawans? The committee shall discuss...
