Yes i believe yrs is the last batch of Prfl model which is 7G engine.

Having owned the pre FL C180K and now the the C180 coupe I can say it is a world of difference.

 

The CGI engine is more responsive and with the 7gtronic+ gearbox gives a much better drive. Other than external cosmetic changes (I like the DRLs) the facelifted interior makes the MOST difference - one only needs to sit inside and immediately feel this

 

The last major difference could be due to the fact that my ride came with Command Online as standard - the sound system is much better. I'm not sure if they have improved the Audio 20 onboard facelifted models.

 

All in all I'm very glad I traded in my pre FL for my coupe even though at the time COEs seemed very high.

hi I think 7Gtronic has been around for Mercs for awhile (over 5-8yrs?)  But in the earlier days 2-3 yrs ago maybe the 7Gtronic gears were fer higher CC  6 cylinder and above cars. 

 

What is your ride? Engine cc, class and year of manufacture?  If yours is a 3L v6 and above ride then its quit5e standard to have 7Gtronic equipped as stock.

 

Fer the smaller cc 2l and below IL4 rides (e.g. C180, C200), I think MB only started to introduce the 7Gtronic in their more recent Post FL models.  Most Pre FL C200s would be Kompressor types n not 7G.....

Mine is YOM 2013 w212 e200 and 1.8T Malaysia spec

I guess it was a pleasant surprise for me. When i collected my w212, i was shocked to find paddle shifters too. As the SE during test drive did not mention tat my car will come with PS.

very interesting thread. did not know there are pfl w204s with 7g gb.

to answer TS, it depends on how long u intend to keep ur car. i went for pfl 2010 w204 cos i knew i wun keep the car for very long. if u intend to drive it for at least 5 years, go for the latest FL. the basis behind is depre is not straight line.

The W203 had a transitional model with the preFL body and interior but a FL model engine.

I guess this W204 is the same situation with the transitional model taking the FL 7g gb with preFL body.

this is quite common for merc.. eg w204 FL komp existing alongside the cgi 7g for a while. butbreally din noe that there are pflw204s with 7g trannies...

IIRC Even the FL C180K came with the 5 spd.

Think have to clear the confusion.

My ride is 2013 W212 7Gtronic. When I test drove the car it did not have paddle shifters, only when my car was delivered to me then I realised that the very last batch had paddle shifters.
