only for C class?

The world Most dangerous thing is the Vehicle. Its not about the machine weather its slow or fast. Its the person who is controlling it. The driver is the brain of the Machine. Not the machine itself.

If the driver reacts slow even the most powerful ABS(Auto braking system) will not help. The driver has to give the car the command in Order for the car to react. Afterall he is the brain of the car.

But but but... They only give 17"...... For what? Who buys 17" wheels now?

Neither I think - IIRC the pre facelift rims looks like this -

how much is that set of rims worth outside?

would tyre shops take them in (if we're not buying? ie...purely selling to them)

there's a glut of these in the market. there used to be a healthy secondary market to move them on to ie, indonesia but it seems all quiet on that front nowadays.

any idea how much is it worth trading in this set of rims to the tyre shop for something new

It depends on what wheels you purchase from a particular tyre store. There is no fixed value, some will offer as low as $100 for 4. However, having said that, in the last 2-3 years if you drive off C&C showroom floor straight into the tyre store, they would offer the highest trade in value then - as high as over $1k if one commits to buying a pricey set of new rims to begin with.

It's the tyres that are worth money, the rims are hardly worth the metal they are made with.
