FL C180K owners ...ever thought of changing to 1.6 turbo version??

Was driving the pre fl c180k. Changed to the 1.6 CGI. Already kanna from many friends. Seriously, doesn't really make much sense for you to change as both are fl versions. Though the new engine and time proven 7G gearbox makes the car much more desirable, it doesn't really make much sense in your case. Wait for the 318?

My car is 3 mths old, i ever asked my SE hw much they value my car if i wanna change to 1.6 CGI. SE said car below 6 mths cannot sell according to LTA. Is it true got such rules?

Yes, minimum requirement for ownership is 6 month by LTA regulation.

Cars registered using Categories A and B Certificates of Entitlement are allowed to be transferred only after the first 3 months from the date of registration. If such cars are transferred between the 4th and 6th months of registration, an Additional Levy (AL), if applicable, is payable.

The AL is the positive difference between the Quota Premium (QP) of the relevant car quota category at the point of transfer and the QP paid for the registration of the car.

A transfer of registration within the first three months from the date of registration may be allowed in the event of the death of the registered owner. However, the application may be subjected to Additional Levy.

Is true cat A & B cant be trasferred ownership less than 6 months. Is wiser to change if u can get a good deal. Coz most buyer will opt for lower price of the same make with a slight diff in hp. If hp hungry the buyer will go for the next upgrade & getting more features which translate less mods too.

Since I am still waiting for the 1.6T 4 doors, and seeing the launch of the 1.6T 2 doors, i went to ask SE any chance of changing...SE said can but no overtrade as the weekend price of 188,888 is introductory offer. Sian liao.....

Usually after you sign on dotted line the chances or re-nego is hard. I saw in the other thread a bro got the 1.6 coupe with 5k overtrade

Just enquired on the cost of insurance with my existing insurer, the premium for a Turbo is way much higher than the premium of the kompressor. Furthermore the excess is 300% more!

Any one who switched to a Turbo agrees or have anyone who is switching found out anything on this?

My SE told me to declare it as Saloon and not Turbo but I already liaised with my insurer. They gave me a quote for the kompressor model previously and they gave a similar quote for the 1.6 turbo. Excess is still $500. I guess it varies from insurer to insurer.

definitely not very wise to falsely declare, when u need insurance most, insurer will sure find all ways to siam payment. False declaration will void the policy. Look at the Ferrari case now the insurer said collision not accident, thus not paying.
