Hi all,

Stumbled upon this forum when i'm researching more on the B-Klasse.

Contemplating between a 2007 B170 or a 2006 B200/T.

Read a couple of threads from US mercedes forum on malfunction with the engines that might require hefty overhauls.

Any comments from you guys who have been driving the cars for a few years? or from someone who had similar experience?

TIA.

The quick answer to this is that you need to take both out for a test drive and feel the difference. I test driven both the 170 and 200T and it was very obvious to me which one I needed,.and hence I bought it at 15k more than the other. Yes, it was the 200T

well, hardly ever heard of engine failures for Mercedes, but yes, for the gearbox you might want to send it for a servicing - ~$400-600 for full ATF changes, filter changes etc. Thereafter, just put it on your servicing schedules to service the gearbox every 20k km lor.

on forums, people will only complain about the faults. so its common to see various canadian forums talk about the gearbox etc. don't be bothered by it. I haven't seen much people complain about it here in SG except for one guy. I'm a happy B200T owner and it's serving me great. Am sure you'll like it.

Hi guys, this is my Virgin post.

I'm considering getting B170 or B200T both saw at SGcarmart.

B170 Aug 07, mileage 80k, one owner, selling 66k

B200T May 07, mileage 120k, two owner, selling 73k

I like the int/ ext condition and low mileage of B170

But I like the horsepower of B200T but the the mileage is high side.

Any advise which should I get?

Need advise on the difference of their FC, servicing cost or other cost.

Or any bro wana sell your B class can let me know, can skip agent costs. Tks.

hi bro, the b170 will be more tempting to buy if compared. but for me i will get the b200T , its more power and more fun. and if im not wrong theres a bro driving a B200T and he only appears mysteriously for Msia run. haha!

He always chase a C63 with his B200T!! haha enough of the crap, ignore my opinion as im bias with more bhp :P

I had a b200t and it was great fun! The power was great and you can overtake easily. Parts are generally more expensive as not many stockists stock the parts for the car. You have to pay more for servicing as most times to replace wear and tear, need to dismantle many parts to access them,

Hi All ,

Any major issue for B170 2009?

As I have shorlisted two B170 :

1. B170 mileage 65 k

2.B170 mileage 94 K ( from republic Auto )

Afraid to get the option 2 as there might prob (reaching 100k)

Any one can advice whether I should get the lower mileage both COE  only 5k :(

Thanks

Desmond

Most impt is service history. No point getting a lower mileage car but the previous owner never really "take care".

Moreover, mileage can be adjusted too.
