Sound proof our merc??

Hi guys,

Anyone soundproof your ride before?

Any recommendation? damage? And is the differences before and after that significant?

Hmmm... I realize my previous ride which is a Camry seem quieter than the current W204.

I did most soundproof other than firewall. Cost more than 1k. I must say not value for money. Improvement is so minimal. Get a quiet tyre better.

I agreed. My doors were taken apart for ice upgrade and u can see in the photo that the doors are already fitted with solid metal plate thus providing good insulation already.

About the door, it has rubber seal on the door and another seal on the door frame. Go see a typical Japanese or most cars (including WoWo) and you will only see one seal at the door.

PS3 is noisier. I was on PS along. PS2 was great. When I changed to PS3, I realised it was noisier, and sidewall harder, so made the car less comfortable.

This might be one of the cause.

I guessed its a Kompressor. Mine's a pre-fl Komp too. Reason the Camry is much quieter is because its NA. Tyres thicker too if stock. And lastly, PS3 a little noiser. I changed to Conti 5. Quiet and good overall performer.

Save your $$$, you will get used to it.

Can lower your tyre pressure a little too to soften the sound. But don't under inflate. for your stock tyres. 230-240Kpa is fine. I pump 250 because I prefer it to be a little stiffer and save petrol.

Nope, just using the Alphine H800 processor and additional 2 ch for the rear speakers. Nothing special lah
