Hi everyone! Just really excited to take delivery of my new ride E200 this weekend. Just wondered if anyone has any suggestions for a newby like me abour Car insurance. Premium quoted by C&C preety steep. Or is it worth it considering the benefits eg., New car replacement etc for the first year. Anything cheaper with similar benefits. Quoted premium $1831 per year.....

Thanks for the reply Lianghai. I claimed 50%NCB hence the premium quote. Aviva quoted less but throgh internet. Not sure being penny wise pound f.... Is it worth just to go with C&C Chartis for first year then change in the subsequent years??? I guess with a car this expensive not good idea to pinch pennies.....

since u have 50% NCD, is best to stick with Chartis. Aviva has alot of hidden rules, unless u r in the same situation as me who got quoted over 4k plus for a car insurance with 0% NCD, dont choose aviva.

Chartis is the only one which will provide free use of another mercs when car is in workshop after an accident I think.

The other insurance will cover with small Jap car.

$5k is a lot though as I am paying only $2k plus for my E250.

U sure Chartis provide free use of another Merc when car is in workshop after an accident? u insured with Chartis now? u better confirm with them again.

I guess if you are taking loans maybe!

If not, I guess it's up to you which insurance you go to!

IMHO Chartis does offer me good terms and I've been with them for quite some time!

Cheers

You guys are rich people to pay such a hefty insurance premium to the blood suckers. i dont normally pay anything more than 1200 for car insurance. MAS has ruling that all insurance company has to adhered to.... I used to have a friend who insured very costly with AXA with promise of heaven and earth. Ultimately when he was involved in accident with his Audi, AXA given him so much problem, and taken almost 6 months before starting to repair his car.... and only find out that it was beyond repair. my friend threaten to bring them to court, only then they declare it total loss! A waste of 8 months!!!

Unfortunately, only AXA insure certain make of cars, especially the more exotic ones. Your friend really patient, if they dont process within one month if its a straight forward case, my lawyer will reach them within a month......lol
