Orange Triangle with "!" mark flashing intermittently on W211

Hi,

Need to seek advice on the flashing of the Triangle with "!" mark.

This Triangle is just next to the left turn signal on the speedo meter.

Its just flashes a few times then go away.

Does anyone has this encounter before and what fault its trying to notify me.

Appreciate an advice if you know. Thanks.

Likely usually stop at the hump then rear wheel spin.

When the road is wet and you accelerate, if the car lose traction meaning your car will either skid or wheel spin, this light will light up.  Its to tell you that ESP has kicked in to help you.

Yes it is normal when your rear wheel lost traction. Assuming yours is a rear wheel drive car. If front wheel drive than its front wheel lost traction. The yellow triangle will come blinking when traction is compromise and will auto turn off when your wheels are back in traction.

 

Usually in wet road conditions in carpark. Or thick white lines on road. Drive with care. Go easy on your pedal.

Happens to my 08 w211 especially if u are in wet carpark with slippery and smooth cement surface. Was rather shocked to see the light lit up on and off. Read on net that the esp trying to correct the car from skidding.

I get these all the time. More so when your tyres have worn out. Increased frequency of the orange triangle is a warning for me to check my tyres.

I induced it before ..... when I drove into a carpark from the rain, did a sharp turn and stepped on the accelerator

When going up very steep slope also may cause the warning to come up.

Wheel spin = ground slippery or wheels slippery or both also slippery!

Wheel spin means you put too much KY on your tyre.

Thanks all. It happened when I entered sheltered carpark from rain as well as going up slope of carpark. Symptoms of wheel spin as explained by all the valuable inputs. Thanks again.

Not sure about W211...but for my previous W204, it a symptom that the fuel pump is going to fail soon...no orange triangle though.

Yes, that's what happened to my previous 07W204 C180. Been experiencing a sudden symptom of car losing power and like dying off whenever I go up car park slope...and after a couple of week, the fuel pump is gone...

Thanks for the update! Going on straight... when rpm abt 1200 to 1400.. car no power also.. same as the rpm when i just enter the slope...
