Hello Bros, here is a log for my BOSS..I will be posting updates as time goes by ...  Hope to make this worthy of your reading.

First thing first..Interior Disinfection at Select (Sime Darby)..Check! Second..Full Grooming..Check! so here begins my journey... RIMS! I spent lots of time shopping around..Original, Replicas and WTS on SGMERC..Finally took the dive with Breyton VTS-AV (SILVER) 18"x8J ET35! I think I made the right move..the look suits my liking..Updated 25th June 2013; my ride height is now 2 fingers from tyres to fender all corners.  Saved money on after market coilovers for now (thanks Bro BlackMercs for sharing in the Coilovers thread)!

Don't get me wrong.  These rims in this picture (not my car as I do not have a nice shot of my ride with the AVantGarde rims) are the AvantGarde alloy rims.  It's not that they are not nice but the Breytons below are my kind of rims  .

Thank you..I agree on that for the "fierce" look.  I was having the tug-o-war in my heart on the gun metal one but thought the silver will suit "all occasions".  When brake dust settles on the rims, it looks darker and fiercer.  When guests come to town, I can wash it off and my car will look executive again..LOL.. But if I let my wild side do the buying, it would defintely be the darker rims as my roof is panoramic, the entire roof is made of darkened glass.  How appropriate!

Had to change my Battery.  Damage $572 (with C&C).  Batteries warranty is separated from the car.

Greetings.  Updates bros:

 

Collected the FL steering (pre-owned - 4 months) and went to Benzline.  As always, professional and friendly services.  Maybe need more car park in that area.  It was a busy day for the small road in front of Benzline.  This is likely transitional as I am also looking at the AMG steering (with Pedal Shifters)..YUM!  Anyways, I still have my stock steering in my warehouse.  Feel free to comment (good or bad)..

New Shopping list! POISON!!!

 

- Rear Brake Pad from Min Ghee (really inexpensive!) C&C rear pads $400 with labour  ) - DONE!

- AMG Steering with Pedal Shift - ordered

- NTG4.5 ordering (clarifying some doubts)

 

Considering:-

 

- W212 Front grille with 3 point start (light or no light? To remove the 3 point star on bonnet and replace with a black emblem from Blackmerc)

- Roof spoiler (subtle one)

- Boot lip (subtle one)

- Ipad mini docking Station by Mercedes (more for my son for long trips to the north)

- Twin trapezoid exo rear bumper (not sure it would be a good move)

 

 

Decided not to change calipers as its pretty good.

Rear Brake Pad changed at QuickLane at Ubi Road 4 (another branch at 305 Alexandra road..I've never been there though).  $120 labour.  Pad from Goldenlink $101 (with sensor cable).   Total damage S$221 before GST (whistle).

 

Quicklane Reception:

Free coffee and Drinks, Free Wifi..Plenty of seating area.  Showroom has nice cars to see too

As for cable, forgot to take pic.  Its a short cable to connect sensors so you know its time to change the pads.  Note that 1 sensor for both rear pads.  This means you will always need to change both at one go.

Are you planning to go big brake kit? I am not; so this is good, else you will have limited choice of bbk with this 18".

IMHO, the stock brakes are adequate for my use on this E class. Hope nobody will shoot me for saying this..lol..peace all.

Chose Yas who is an independent Caliper painter to get this done. Discussed about the the methods and type of paint used.

I chose matte black as I do not want the calipers to standout too much. Subtlety was preferred (personal preference for my E-Class). Chose spray over hand painted as I wanted the calipers to look smooth.... Choose matte black over gloss as I want the calipers to blend in with the car's silver paintwork and when brake dusts settles on my rims making the rims look gun metal, the matte black will blend in nicely too! High temp paint was selected. Paid a little more for peace of mind. Yas was very patient in explaining the costing and downtime. Was also careful when handling my car. He drove to my location of choice at a very nominal fee.

Got impatient so had to post some pics. Will post more when car is washed.
