Key wont unlock door

Would like to seek experts and seniors from this forum. My spare key is unable to unlock the door until very close distance (beside driver's door). There is a red light that flashes when I press the 'unlock' button, I have read that the key has infra red and radio frequency. Tried 'synchronising key by imsertimg the key. Is my key faulty or what should i do to resolve it?

I read that if there is a red light flashing it is not low battery. Please correct me.

The key has two components to it. A radio frequency component that operates the locking/unlocking of the car and an infrared component that starts the car. It is possible for either component to fail exclusively of the other. The fact that your other key works, suggest that the radio frequency component chip is done for.

Please try switching the battery first this is the easiest way to find out. It maybe due to bad battery contact or the key radio frequency has some issue.

How long this key has not been used? After replaced with new battery can start the engine?

Recently just bought the car for 2 weeks. Only realised this when I used the spare key. Yes still able to start the engine after Swopping batteries. Just unable to unlock the car from a distance. Only if I'm standing next to driver"s door and it only unlocks drivers door and not passénger"s door. Any advise other than replacing new key which may costs a lot.

Try checking with CnC ? or your Agent if your ride is PI? Anything to deal with keys and locks is best to return to them. There might need to reconfigure your key. Since you said its a 2weeks old car I presume its under warrenty Thus please refer back to your dealer.

Used this key for a week for daily driving. If the problem still persist then got to check with yr SE for advise since this is a 2 weeks old car or is it a used car?

Yes it's a used car..se quoted 1k. My car is still able to start. Just that I have to unlock at close range ..strangely when I unlock passenger doors won't unlock too

Use this key to for a week or two. I suspect is the sync thingy issue

Press your remote lock and unlock buttons at the same time for a 5 seconds until u will see the key's LED light flashing. This trigger from opening the driver door only to opening the passengers doors. For your case, try pressing a second time to unlock passengers door, after depressing the first time to unlock the driver door. I had this problem today as well....Today I encountered this issue.

Check the fuse box as well the fuse does not seems to be broken

I want to rule out fuse issue and changed my fuse and battery and what I had....My key worked

I had the same problem this morning but my key can unlock the passenger door but not the driver door

Need to open the driver door from inside. The driver door lock can't push to lock position when door is opened

Any advice?

Faulty lock mechanism need to replace the whole lock unit which does not come cheap....

Go And replace it .... I had the same issue before cost me 1k to replace the whole unit.... The lock had 2 catch one is outside catch which open the door from outside one is inner catch which open from the seat... One of the catch had snapped thus making you unable to open from outside.

Call C&C already. They told me drive down n let their mech see see look look. I told them is the lock mechanism broken, they say no and Try to smoke me

Yes the other possibility is faulty door handle which is more often occurrence

Now at the center. The SE and his mech act secretive looking at my car. And I ask what happen they don't wan tell me

Settled. They say handle lock loose. Tighten and work good.

Nice its a handle lock loose....tighten ah? sound like it will break off sooner or later as well....cheap alternative

Hi Guys,

 

I've similiar issue with my remote after tinting my window, remote starts to act irractic.Fail to lock at times unless inches near the driver door and interestingly the range to lock/unlock can be imroved to 2 feet after period of driving. (sometimes)

Thru my understanding reading up the forum, our remote works with RF n IR, the radio channels were affected too and after some adjustment to the rear antenna amplifer, the radio n remote works wonderfully for once den its all back to poor connectivety again.

 

Please advise
