Methanol Injection for CGI

I am working towards tuning up my car. Heard from my tuner that for CGIs, methanol injection will help immensely. Anyone gone that route?

Bro, doesnt matter who's my tuner lar. He is someone established in the market and has done the W212 in excess of 400nm torque. I will try and FR everyone

It is an injection system that reduces air inlet temperature which allows users to increase boost pressure to create more power by utilizing the cooling effects of the system under heavy load.

If I m not wrong, this requires to advance timings and changing the ECU program. Methanol maybe hard on seals and rubbers.

I did Meth injection on my previous TC ride, tuner able to run more advance ignition timing and boost, due to the combustion nature of meth... i used a 50/50 meth water mixture .

You may be right in terms of wear on the coatings, seals and what nots.

40 WHP gains on meth, running a 2.7 stoker , gsc stage 2 cams, on a bolt on atp gt30, tuner was turbo sam @ amk autopoint, WRX 08

Just sharing a personal experience...When playing with methanol injection kits, please do note that placement (or location) for methanol injection nozzles is very crucial in gaining good pony numbers.  I have personally witnessed on the same engine with different nozzle placements, the gain in ponies can differ by as much as 12horses and 15Nm torque in a TC engine.

I think installation location varies from tuner to tuner, installer to installer based on experience, nozzle type and engine type, not forgetting accessibility of installation locations as well as other factors that may prevent the nozzle to be installed at an optimum position.

 

There are many articles that speak on optimum location for methanol injection kits, but I suppose this article googled from the net summarises it pretty well for a broad and pretty precise understanding.  Maybe you can google more from the net to gather your own information and come to a judgement point to assess a premium position for installing the nozzle.
