Just Bought a C180K from Republic

Recommended Posts

Hi All, I am new here and have just joined as a member. Just bought a pre-owned Nov 2007 C180K (W204) from Republic with a mileage of 48,500 km. However, I find that the car performs sluggishly at low speed, like the auto box is hunting for the right gear to move the car. Is this normal? My previous ride is a 2004 Camry which do not have this problem. Any advise from anyone here. Thanks

Bro, previously I drove a 07 Camry and bought a w204 last year but still keep my Camry as a spare car.

When I started driving my new merc, I got this problem of getting use to it as I find it under power... But this 2 cars are of different breed... 2.4 vs 1.6 (supercharge). The Camry gave u instant power and lively whereas the merc u must push above 2.5k rpm before u feel it response.

Get use to it and you will enjoy the ride!

Welcome to the club.

That's how most people will feel when switching from a jap ride to conti.. I had the exact same experience..

The reason for its sluggishness is the weight.. You are now driving a solid car and not a tissue box or milo tin!! hahaa

Jokes aside, even my C200K is underpowered and guzzles petrol like theres no tomorrow..

C180K should feel it even worse i think..

I second that, start with the TRD from our sponsor Dr Hannson. Should feel the immediate kick, not enough then explore other options. 2007 W204 model has a few options with regards to ECU flash or piggybacks. The good Dr will be able to serve your needs!

TRD = Throttle Response Device

It's similar to a sprintbooster. In short, it boost the signal of the acceleration pedal so the car response faster.

Have anyone experience wiper judder? The wiper blades appear to be new and I believe it was changed during the last 48,500km servicing at CnC. It judders at low intermittent settings when I used it in the rain today. Btw, how can we get past service reports on this vehicle from CnC? This will tell me what has been changed so far. Thanks for all advise from fellow club members.
