Just saved a lovely damsell from the scrappers. No thanks to Grab Uber etc had to part with $48k for the COE on the W211.
A bit disappointed on the aluminium panels that dent as easy as a Coke can. In some ways miss my W124 whom I dumped for a prettier damsell.
FC still just as crappy at 7.5km/l even after 20 years of tech.
Plus point being it is the smallest displacement E class ever made ie 1.8L.
Initial reports few years back indicated w213 might go 1.6L in line with the other Euro models with large bodies but small engines ala Mondeo S60 etc to cap emmissions. Would have been interesting if they did, but they opted the safer route of a 2.0L, perhaps avoiding the boo boo made with W211's SBC.
Old benzs still remain my favourite.
Anyone has a Ponton?
