Interior Trim Mod

Recommended Posts

Sharing my latest astatic mod, had my aluminum interior trims stickered glossy black today for a slick look.

My initial plan was to spray the trims however, I had a few concerns. The quote I had for spraying all the aluminum interior trims amounted to $480. The price includes spray to your chosen color and sealant. The spray shop will have to remove all the trims in the car in order for it to be sprayed. Downtime given to me was 1 day. If my paint was scratched, I'd have to either respray or learn to live with it.

Compared to sticker, the same interior trims cost me $100, the price includes sticker for all the interior aluminum trims. The trims do not need to be removed thus minimizing the probability of damages, I can easily replace any sticker that is scratched, if I'm sick of it I just tear it out and it's back to stock. Downtime is roughly 2 to 3 hours.

For me, it was a no brainer and I choose to sticker the trims. Photos attached, ENJOY!

If my seat was black, I'd have done it long ago! The reason I took so long to decide was due to the contrasting color of my seat. I kept wondering if glossy black would go with brown. Final outcome didn't disappoint. Jet black car with a jet black interior is just so slick!

MTL! Go for it! Cheap, fast and good!

Yes working on it. Now trying to confirm color only. I'm so close to doing full real CF this weekend, luckily saw your post! Now saved alot of $$$$!

Sticker is easier to maintain and way way cheaper, scratch already still not so heart ache, just resticker it!

Key fob I'd actually do it in red to match the red line trims and AMG brakes, interior I'll do white. Suit the style of his car.

Got 2 car keys, so 1 can do in white and the other in red!

Upz for this good recommendation.

Looks gd ! Only worry the heat melting the stickers.

Welcome to the forum! Note that it's your first post!

Stickers melting? Sticker is kinda like paper, how does it melt? If it's paint, I'd believe so at very very high extreme temperatures. Even so, the paint on my car doesn't melt under the Singapore heat.
