FL W211 whizzzing sound from AirCon

Brompton

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Checking with you guys if you did encounter some whizzzing sound coming from your car? I did a few test to check where did the sound came from and concluded that when i turn off the aircon totally, the whizzzing sound is gone...

The sound gets louder and more obvious when I am doing a turn or climbing up a slope on a multi-storey carpark.

Dealer refer me to MarkCool and they change a NEW motor for the AC for me. Drove off and return to MarkCool, cos the sound is still there.

Anyone has got this encounter before and how did you guys remedy it?

Thanks and appreciate your answers. :)

Ya lor.. They suspect might be the NEW motor problem. They ordered another new motor as that is the last piece. So i will be going back to MC again on Friday to fix up the new motor to see if the sound is still around.

Pray hard that the sound will be gone... not obvious, but a bit irritating though...

i have problems with aircon too ... slow to start.. take time to warm up. then when the car is "happy" enuff to deliver cool air it gave off some sort of sound ...

thereafter working properly ... there are some whizzling sound at times when demand higher output ... but not as much to irritate me ... much of the time was listening to class95 =S

Check your aircon air vent.. mine got this whizzing sound if one of the aircon vent is closed.. most of the time my daughters itchy hand.. will close the rear vent... once I open it.. its gone.

Hi guys,

My FLW211 AC has a hissing sound which I think comes from the right side. The temperature is fine. Its just the hissing sound that is kinda annoying. Any of you guys have this same sound? Any ideas what the problem is or is it normal?

Bro.. I think mine is the hissing sound too... According to MarkCool, Its the compressor old liao... temperature is still ok... but this hissing is quite annoying...

Think because my car dealer is paying for the MarkCool repair bill... When Mine is done, MC said that they changed the whole compressor to a new one... I left MC happily and the car is silent again... but after one week, the slight hissing sound came back again, but very slight.. only when i rev hard or turning left only... This makes me think that MC might only just changed a re-con compressor for me...

Sigh.. decided to let the matter rest... will be asking for more advise when the car is due for servicing at MBM.. hopefully they can trace the problem... :D

I went to mark cool with the same problem. All he did was to purge empty the aircond gas, and refill again. Can't really remember what he told me was the reason, it's something like the old gas does not have any lubricant oil left and he need to purge it out an refill again with recommended proportion of new oil together with the gas. Cost me $60 and the sound is gone forever.
