W220 brake and airmatic suspension

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I really need some help from you guys.

My car is a late 05 model with 60k km on it.

Bought my ride half a year ago and although servicing wasn't due for another 4.5k km, decided to send my car for servicing as the front light bulb blew. After servicing from one of the forum sponsors, was quoted an eye popping $11k for replacement and repairs!

Was told that the light is fixed and went home only to find out later in the evening that there were not one but two light malfunctions ; one in the same left front and one in the right back light!!! Had to drive all the way from east to west AGAIN the next day to get them to rectify it. This actually made me feel less confident of their expertise.

Here is the breakdown for the $11k. About $1250 for labor and parts for brake pad and disc rotor and brake fluid. About $6600 for labor and parts for rear suspension. The balance of about $3k is for other stuff that is not so vital so i will not go into details.

Was told by the mechanic that the airmatic part can be half the price if I use OEM parts. I do not have any preference as long as its reliable.

Would really appreciate if anyone here can tell me if this is a reasonable quote or can recommend me a reliable workshop with a better price.

Thank you very much and your weekend is great!

PS Sorry, I might have posted this twice in 2 different sections as this is my 1st time posting here.

Since the repairs has been done over with is kinda of too late to give u any good advise. My 2 cents is that get a few quotations to compare before proceed for any repair work.
