W211 E200 engine block cover difference ?

I noticed there are 2 different types of engine block design for E200ML :

1) One with a stainless steel bar across the engine block (printed with Mercedes)

2) The other type has NO stainless steel bar across the engine block (just the Logo close to the engine oil inlet)

Anyone know the difference ? ie : Any horsepower difference ? Or one is newer than the otherAny member know what is the difference ?

The 2 covers are plastic.

The silver stripe one is found on the earlier model and is susceptible to cracks after prolong exposure to engine heat. This crack will only happen during removal of cover since it will need to be forcefully pulled out and that's where the connection points crack.

The MB logo cover is the newer improved cover with softer plastic that does not crack easily.

Amyeay, you cannot judge if the engine or car is new or old model from the cover since they are interchangeable. I had my W203 old cover changed to the new one when it cracked.

Just for info, the even older cover before the silver stripe one has red/white colour if I didn't remember wrongly.
