To protect Fuel Pump ?

I read 2 useful tips to prolong life span of Fuel Pump :

1) Pump when left 1/4, don't let it empty.

• Because Fuel submergence cools the Fuel Pump, and to avoid Fuel Pump pumps air to mess-up "air : fuel" ratio for engine combustion.
  

2) Do not pump full, fill-up til 3/4.

• To avoid fuel over flowing leaks. (If it happen, fuel smell is detected inside the cabin)

imo, full pump till the gun 'click' should be fine.. just don't shake shake/hump hump the car like some people do in jb

Whenever I drive up north, I still pump full (stop whenever the nozzle triggered stop), but this is occassional basis.

Die for me. I always drive till the refuel light lits up and pump full tank till the nozzle clicks.

Recently due to shell promotion on the extra shell escape points and visa lucky draw, I pump only 30L whenever fuel lever hit 1/4 mark
