Hi, I have a 2009 W212 E250 CDI and was wandering if the car is able to be retrofitted with the AMG steering wheel with paddle shift. I've seen some grey imports that has this option on them. If so, can you please PM me the price for the steering wheel along with the installation cost for all functions on the steering wheel to be working. Thanks in advance!

Yes! It can be easily retrofitted!

IMHO - U have a few options

a. Buy your own steering from eBay -

All along I've chosen option A - I buy my own over the net,t

This guy from Poland who sells on eBay mostly steering wheels & airbags :)

I bought my E250 AMG steering like this below from him before.

If your current steering is 4 spokes, then you will need to buy a new airbag from the seller.

The airbag cost about as much as the steering wheel.

I've also recently bought from this seller an AMG wooden steering with paddle shifts for my C180.

Programing will be done by my workshop in Singapore - AutoSpritze.

Cost will be couple of hundreds $$$

Thank you for the feedback and advice... may I ask how fast is the response or reaction of the gearshift when paddle shifting? When I test drove the W204 AMG Sports Packaged C180 CGI, it wasn't like an immediate shift thing... would I be expecting the same if done on the W212 CDI?

Apologies for the numerous question... am a new convert from BMW to Merc, so new learning curve for me... hahaha... thanks for the patience and advice!
