fellas, I think it's not healthy to keep comparing like this. I didn't get a BEST deal ($18k overtrade and $8k discount + service credits of $2k), but then again, I didn't choose to get a MB for the freebies. I chose the MB because it's a MB.

agreed with u bro, i chose this car cos i liked it more than other cars at the moment.

but i feel short changed due to the package i've gotten from my SE. im not asking for the best deal, but hopefully a reasonable deal. most buyers gotten some discount + high overtrade from their SEs, while mine didnt have any discount at all & a much lower overtrade than them. :(

Your package may not be the best deal and imho may not be the worse deal too!

The waiting is pleasant, look forward to enjoy your ride and mod it up!

I thought I posted something, but it apparently did not go through.

Anyway, thanks for the replies and congrats to all who got your rides! No point thinking about whether your deal was good or bad, since its done just enjoy the car.

As for me, I think I'll wait a while, at least until C and C are ready to meet in the middle. In the meantime, if anyone has a good, hungry SE to recommend, would appreciate if you could pm me! (PS: does C and C do a SE "lock-in"? Can i potentially buy from another SE other than the first guy who served me? Thanks!)

There will be a whole new batch of SEs in May. So, maybe you can pop down in May to see if you can get away with murder. :)

The listed price for C180 has been the same for quite awhile. The discounts are base on the COE prices. They always adjust the discounts after the COE biddings. When I ordered the car, its was 8k discount. After the 1st COE bid, it become 5k discount and now is 2k discount. So only hope is for a lower COE and See n See will give more discount rebate. But with COE supply cutting in Aug, my feel is COE will remain in the 50k+ zone for awhile. And with 300+ unsuccessful bids the last round, we can see that the demand for COE is still very high.

May i check in regards to the rebate from loan financing, my SE told me the cash rebate is only for those who borrowed directly from C&C in house finance at 2.68%? if borrowed from other banks at 1.88%, there wont be any rebate? is this true?

AFAIK, CnC has financing arrangements with a couple of banks whereby a cash rebate is included. The prevailing interest rates vary from time to time as does any rebate promotion. I got my ride at the end of December and I took the financing they offered from DBS that included a cash rebate. For my previous ride I took the loan from Maybank without cash rebate which was also arranged by CnC as it was the better deal at that point in time.

Of course you are at liberty to go out into the market and seek the best deal available for yourself from any other bank who may or may not have such rebate promotions.

To me the important thing is how the loan is packaged to give me the lowest effective interest rate rather than than how much the rebate or nominal interest rate appears to be perhaps you can work out with your SE what the suitable load package is for your needs and compare with with external packages before you decide.

I loaned directly from C&C, i.e. MBFS, at 1.88%pa.
