Just got K&N filter for my W203 from MBM at $148 before tax. Just call in to check if they have the stock for your car model and if they have, you can drive down almost anytime. Took about 30min to 1 hr for changing my filter and spark plugs.

Don't wait liao... quick go change, you'll have NO REGRET like what Gene told me before my change. Must thank him again coz I'm still smiling when I driving my car now. Hahaha...

That what I had on my previous 1972 Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV with twin weber caburettors but with safe made wire mesh covering the air intakes.....brought back old memories - screw the air filters.....wahahahaha!!!!

The roar is quite something eh.. :) 2000 GTV is a very nice classic shape.

Bro Leon,

Caburettors with such air-intakes are contagious!!!!

No exhaust notes can beat the roar of air gushing into the caburettors.

U will defintely luv revving the engine at traffic lights.

I had more than half the parts in the engine compartment chromed or highly polished.

Chromed parts include pulleys, brake master pump, radiator top, screws & nuts,

polished caburettors, cam covers, etc.,...wished I can see that car again if it's still around....sigh....

Here you go.. revive your old memories hahaha

From my limited knowledge of carbs.. I keep hearing people choosing Weber over Solex. They claim Weber has the best balance in terms of power and fuel consumption. Weber DCOE or something like that. Then dunno got what side draft lah etc etc. This one learn from ang moh one. :afro:

Quite true, I personally prefer Weber over Solex cos parts "mod parts" are easily available.

In goode olde days no such thing as chipping or remap ICU, but with the webers U can get a

wide range of air jets & fuel jets to play with to get the best combination.

When Policemen still wear khaki shorts for uniforms,

for perf. mods, grind & polished valve seats, racing pistons, lightened crankshaft,

racing cams (full race, half race), cam timing, close ratio gear box, milled cylinder head, LSD, etc

Needs lotta patience to tune the caburettors for the air fuel mixture for each cylinder.

The video U posted is what exactly U need to do after each time U tuned.

That is to rev. it up to see whether the engine is idling smoothly.

If not, tune the respective cylinder that is "not balanced" and rev. again.

Used to race the GTV on the uncompleted stretched of the ECP to Changi Airport.

Take out the spark plugs, look at the deposit, change jettings, tuned and keep repeating till U think

U got the best combination.

IMO, one of the "best Alfa" mechanic still around is Lim Joo Seng Workshop in Block 1044 Eunos Ave 4.

He used to be a mechanic then City Motors - long time ago agent for Alfa Romeo in SG.

He's my sifu in Alfa caburettors.
