is that what you noticed on your 8valver as well ??

does anyone know of any ECU mods that can retune the air-fuel ratio ?

what is the rpm on yr tacho at 80kmh ?? can share ??

at 80 mine is abt 2.6k. my consumption getting terrible man. from full tank 470 now down to full tank 390 - 400. terrible

same same

when driving at 100kmh... rpm is 3000+ ... the engine roar inside the car is like :death:

feels the same like when i was running 4.9 final drive on my former EG9 when it was 4400rpm at 100kmh on my puny 1.6L Veetech

hmm... time to think of a CO tuning like Mike suggested

for mine, 100Km/h about 2.7krpm only... well that its after all tuning done, now its abit higher due to haven't gone to BURN carbon for a period of time liao!!! :banghead: :banghead: my fav. mech said i must go bring my 8V for burn carbon liao!!

hehehe :offtopic: when i first saw your post, i almost saw "yo all V8s bros" :bboyspin: :bboyspin:

full tank can range from 520 to 600, depends on mood and traffic, now mostly 70% city laio..

Wow kel, 2.7k at 100kmh sounds great man. mine at 100 is abt 3.1 - 3.2 n this is with the 16v rear axle. Sigh.

I didnt know tuning could improve that. mech said cant tune anymore wait there'll be the pinging from the engine. said to do top overhaul. i guess thats not a bad idea since lileage is abt 370k already. after that, hope to get your kind of performance. today full tank ended at 390km. 70% highway going abt 90 - 110 avg.

Mike, last dec i changed fuel filter, accumulator, fuel pump, plug cables, rear axle to 16v lots of hoses n mountings n bushings. it was after that, my mileage dropped from 460 full tank to abt 400 full tank. ???

Think i might have damaged the engine when i ran for abt a week in 3rd gear due to a failed transmission valve body. Felt like a sports car n sounded like one too.

actually hor

i put in this product called Velocity Tuner into my air intake tube last wk

ever since, my FC improved. I estimate with this tank of gas, i am getting 8.2km/l compared to low 7s for the past 1 month

same travel pattern, same driver, same roads travelled

the Honda forum people swear by it.... even my uncle as well

unfortunately, i did not get any noticable improvement on my Subaru

go read about it on this link

http://www.shc-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=150196

i swear i do not stand to benefit from this referral

jus sharing something i find useful only

Mike, the mech said all is ok except that he cant tune anymore cos the engine might get damaged. said got to do top overhaul. dont know wat he meant abt why he cant tuen but something to the effect that there will be pinging in the engine if he tries. said after top overhaul then can tune it well.

so whats the best setting now? i think mine cant be advanced anymore. thats wat the guy was saying. but engine just doesnt feel right. becoming more underpowered till i have to kickdown to get power. sluggish. plus vibrations in the steering at speeds above hundred. that one think i must go do high speed balancing. u know any place?

Hi all to the W124 8Vs band of brothers! Fyi, I just top up my fuel tank yesterday@Caltex;pumping Platinum'98 to full-tank. My W124 is pretty old too (already 17yrs old and just paid the lowest PQP recently to continue driving for another 10yrs)but when I bought directly from the owner, the condition was still very good and well maintained. So being the new owner, I took my W124 to my own workshop for a general servicing and changed the necessary wear&tear parts, etc, etc. Yesterday before driving to Caltex to fuelup my MB, I noted that my mileage clocked was 555km after hitting the triangle-light signal warning light. As usual, I asked the attendant to pump my W124 to the max. When I got home, I decided to calculate my FC and it worked out to be 9.5km/L for my urban as well as expressway driving patterns. I am not sure if this is considered good or bad. Can anyone tell me if my FC rate is OK? Normally, should it be hitting 10km++/L?? At 100km, my rpm [email protected]. Lastly, due to my current driving patterns, I usually visit Caltex every 8-9 days. If I am lucky....occasionally on the 10th day then pump petrol.

Cheerios!

I'm usually on Shell / Caltex 95 and my tank returns about 7.5km/L. Lately I've been driving 75% City /25% Hwy.

9.5 is unattainable for me. :)

Hey guys....don't make it sound like my W124 MB is freakish leh...? According to the W124 manual, for automatic 4-speed transmission strictly urban driving stated as 10.91L/100km = 9.16km/L

Then for regular cruising at 90km/h is 7.21L/100km = 13.86km/L

Lastly, for regular speed cruising at 120km/h it is 8.91L/100km = 11.22km/L

Fyi, our fellow member (mercw124) mentioned in the forum under the thread: Taking the COE plunge for w124 said "Im currently serving my NS and I drive from Kovan to CCK for work daily, I'm clocking 600km on a full tank!"

He is even better than me...?!? Not to mention clocking 600km for a full tank leh...! 600km is quite mind-blowing man....though he didn't mention what is his FC still.

What say all of you guys out here??
