Date of delivery can be found in the purchase contract. Did u check it?

Contract stated Feb/march and se could not give a firm delivery date until one day before hand over. Seems clients are expected to work around to the convenient of cc schedule, instead of the other way round.

what fascinates me was that despite a lead time of 2-3 months from the signing of contract, they were not able to provide a proper hand over date. Being a project manager, I would have been fire many times over for such slack follow through.

Ditto should have collected car already, that's why the "question" on 1 day notice.

I also think that 1 day notice is too short.

SE said CnC only start to install solar film etc after registration so there should be enough time to arrange convenient date/time for collection.

i think cnc can just tell u " sir ur car is rdy in 3 days time, when they knw it can be rdy by tomolo"

but i believe non of us would like to drag.... the SE wan happily hand over to u, cos another successful deal closed.

and us on the other hand, also wanting to collect asap. right? cos new car after-all.

but if u not free u can just tell them to leave it there first, while u can collect days after..

I was told by C&C SE that my new car would be delivered within a week when I was given notice to pay the balance for car in full. But I got my car in 3 working days instead of the expected 5 working days. And yes, I was given 1 day notice that my car will be ready earlier. However  I was given option to collect later although car was already registered with LTA. Of course I wanted earlier and quickly handed over my old trade-in car.

My car came with the window tints barely dry and was told not to operate the windows till a day later. The actual delivery date depends on LTA completing registration and the local contractors finish doing their stuff like camera and GPS fitting.

I waited 4 months for W245. 2-3 months ok lah.

Easier if you set a target date for your SE. Negotiate with him.

I told my SE I am taking leave on xxxxxx ( of course later than his target date ) can you kindly have the car ready for collection.

On xxxxxx the car is ready and waiting for me.

yup yup... same same just like anyone else.... i also go thru the same thing..

receive car time, window still got warning sticker, so to let the tint settle down.

i believe, after decades of delivering cars, they should be, and ALREADY improvise their system till tip top liaoz... right?

Thank you all for your insight and feedback. Looks like I have a higher expectation of what could have been with the entire buying experience. Audi and PML faired better in that aspect.

and ah bui, I am not sure where do you get the impression that pm is dua liap. It is just another job where you manages scope and expectation of client, given the availability of resources and constraints.

give and take ba... i believe is not about audi, pml faired better ar.

as i mentioned. perhaps cnc wanted to convevy the very first updated news to car owner. becos we all knws that, buy new car is "can't WAIT to get it one" right?

neither am i defending for them... so put it this way.

IF cnc knws that 27/3/15 can handover car and that's the "fastest" that they could... but to NOT let customer had such a "short" notice... cnc call customer, "mr so & so your car will be ready on the 31/315.

will u feel much more better?

:D  :D

perhaps if u wants it this way, when u buy car, sign the paper already, u tell the se.."EHH inform mi 1 week before hand ar."

confirm chop, u will be pleased with the service.

I think hor...once reg is done, the car can be handed over to owner. Just pondering....

If car reg on 31/3/2015, CNC call owner..."Sir, your car will be ready on 5/4/2015" good lead time of few days...then when own come....see the road tax disc...will kpkb again...how come wasted my few days????

For me...I would prefer to collect ASAP....smell the new leather....quickly run in the parts liao...

But then, I know a couple of friends collect new car liao become more stress....piston jam....damn luckily.....hahahahahaha

So let nature take its course....

If you are so adamant about "good days" to collect car, would suggest for you to communicate with the SE.

PS: I too handle projects on the client side....so I always "advice" the contractor my dates....thus leaving allowance to nego

Peace....

Its always better to undersell and over deliver then to oversell and under deliver right ?

For me I sold my ride to direct buyer so boh chia for few days and pressurise SE .. but SE just apologise she doing best she can and Friday the best she can do blah blah blah

But on Wednesday morning she called .. ask want collect same afternoon or next day morning

1st thing come to my mind .. nb give themselves so much buffer .. but at the end still damn happy w the 'over delivery' ... the registration was indeed the same day aa the collection ... lagi happy

Its a mind game after all.

Brought 3 cars from them and none hiccups on the delivery date. As long as the deal is one to one exchange i wouldnt be bothered. Not like the delivery date is delay more than a month or so. So measure your expectation and you wont get frustated and life is too short to be bothered by such trifle matters. Tio bor!!

@Asiadj, yes that will be ideal, as the expectation is managed from both end. If date was given and I still want to ask for earlier delivery, then I am being unreasonable and difficult.

Cheers n TGIF everyone.

then u SHOULD tell the SE before hand... hey.. inform mi 1 week in advance ar.!

then won't had cause u such problems liaoz.

When I went to collect my car.

My SE says will come in the next week.

I Lagi best go walk the whole CnC car park and find my car

And I found it, he says.... I don't know it was there.

Let me get the keys and you are good to go

The world Most dangerous thing is the Vehicle. Its not about the machine weather its slow or fast. Its the person who is controlling it. The driver is the brain of the Machine. Not the machine itself.

If the driver reacts slow even the most powerful ABS(Auto braking system) will not help. The driver has to give the car the command in Order for the car to react. Afterall he is the brain of the car.
