a Mercedes and a taxi collide at a traffic junction in Alexandra Road at about 10.45am today (May 24).

The Stomper said the vehicles crashed into each other while turning at the junction.

"The Police had blocked off one lane due to the accident," said Thomas.

"The driver was taken away in an ambulance," he added.

The world Most dangerous thing is the Vehicle. Its not about the machine weather its slow or fast. Its the person who is controlling it. The driver is the brain of the Machine. Not the machine itself.

If the driver reacts slow even the most powerful ABS(Auto braking system) will not help. The driver has to give the car the command in Order for the car to react. Afterall he is the brain of the car.

My guess is one of the cars beat the red light. Looks like the taxi hit the CLA on front side left, so both cars were travelling around 90 degrees to each other when the collision happened.

Edit

Opps. Just saw Ah Bui's post on the taxi illegal U-turn. That would explain the collision
