need help on AMG BBK caliper dimension

level z

Recommended Posts

Thinking about installing the AMG BBK for the front. Went to TOP93 and was introduced a brand they were carrying. Rotor size 355 mm but was shock when it could not fit my 18" rim. Apparently my rim design makes the inner diameter of the rim such it could not clear the caliper. The caliper is a 6 pots banana shape.(ie the extremes of the caliper almost rubbing the inner of my rim)

I was adviced to go 19" to clear the bbk which i am not willing. I am also not willling to change the current rim i have. My rim is a rep of the AUDI RS4 design.

Since then i been paranoid if the AMG BBK will fit my car. Can somebody provide some info the extreme dimension of the BBK to check if it clears my rim ? I will take photo and dimension of my rim later to and post it.

Thx

i do not have the calipers Dimension per your request. However, i am aware that some C63 AMG comes with 18" RIMs.

Therefore it should fit unless your current RIMs are somewhat special in design and specs.

Look for euromodz they hv mini bbk to fit yr rims size. Coz yr rims just couldnt fit in the standard bbk.

ok i try to explain my problem .. you can see my existing rim which is 18" .. because of the arrow indicated "raise" up portion, my inner diameter of the rim now is 410 mm (i just measured it)....of course be more if not of that ... this reduced diameter is cos of the design ...

I am hoping the AMG bbk caliper would be 390 mm or less as indicated in my pic to clear my rim at least i would have about 10 mm clearance between my caliper and inner side of the rim ... rotor size can still be 365 mm so long the caliper can accommodate it (I have a fren on 18" rim with 365 mm rotor, caliper is ap racing) ...

Then I do suggest you go Euromodz... look for Annis... he cater for 345 rotors too if you insist on 6 pot bbk....I'm using 345 but looks abit small on my 19" .... think it should clear your rims....

  • 2 months later...

still hunting for the info ... anyone has amg bbk (rotor 360 mm) with 18" rim ?

i hesitant to go 19" as it will surely affect the performance of the car ...

help !

Why don't you contact the shop that sells AMG BBK like BenzLine? I'm sure they'll be in a better position to let you know the dimensions.

problem is cannot try ... tried JBT with 355 rotor and cant fit .. a tat too small ...

most important buying from another source(the source also cant confirm if the amg will fit) so not right to ask BL ...

my rim off set is ok ... only concern is the rim's inner diameter if it will rub the caliper

my c63 is currently running the stock 18" AMG rims. I do not have the dimension of the calipers but the AMG brakes have almost completely fill up the rim. From your rim picture, I doubt it will clear the AMG BBK. Even if it clears, you will be looking at clearance of less than 5mm.

There is a fair bit of price diff between BL & other supplier .. Actually BL supplies only .. they sub the fitment to workshop

Why don't go for AMG 4 pot? 6 pots look nice but unless u really need that kind of stopping power, it's useless additional weight.

If you are referring to the AMG sports kits brakes, not cheap. Was quoted 3k plus all in by a workshop ...

unless you are referring to this one, if you are, any idea of the price and rotor size ?

sorry OP t loan your pic ...

The bling factor of the 6 pot is quite irresistible ... Car not fast but make it chio ... lol

Yes...19". The caliper is definitely less than 390mm. Rotor for the frt AMG BBK is only 360mm.

Ok mate .. thx .. your help and photo is appreciated.

from the pic i can guesstimate based on 355 mm or 360 mm rotor, so long the inner diameter of the rim is more than 375, it will clear the caliper and rotor. So it will clear my rims with 17.5 mm gap between the caliper and inner of the rim since mine is 410 mm.

now onward to my project ... apparently only BL has red .. hmm

What's better than a bright red caliper?
