Need assistance on car lock

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

My name is Ian and I am new here. :)

I have a problem with my car's driver side lock , ( it cannot be locked or unlock from the remote whereas all the other doors are working fine). I was wondering if any of you guys have such experience before and where would be a good workshop to recommend ?

I have checked 3 workshops so far and prices quoted to me ranges from $220 to $380 and to $500++. As a result, I am pretty confused at the price disparity. What my friend advised me was to go to a known dealer to handle this problem as leaving this to a non-mercedes specialised workshop may cause further problems. Especially when Mercedes cars have lots of electronics. Is this true??

Anyway, my car model is the c180 kompressor bluefficiency. I believe it is the W204 chassis , the latest model before the facelift.

Thanks a lot for reading this!

Cheers!

Ian

Welcome Ian!! Pricing is subjective so cant comment. As for workshop, check out the site sponsor as they are consider as "mercedes" workshop.

Same situation happened to me once after respraying the drivers door. Remote cannot lock or unlock the drivers door. Manual lock and unlock still works. Drove down to my regular technician and got it fixed in 5 mins. Was just a "pin" that the resprayer did not fit back. Apparently, there's a possibility that the "pin" might dislocate from its position.
