i saw a S Class on the road having the badge changed to E1000.

This is to reflect the same with his car plate....which is E1000S if i remember correctly.

You forgot the guy with E250 but changed to E6.3.... lol.....

I've seen lots of examples where people mod their cars to look like the real thing so they change the badge to reflect it. Example E250 change to E350 with twin tailpipes mod.

To be honest, I feel that the badge should at least reflect the mods done on the car and feel realistic in a way? For example there's never been an AMG model for the pre-fl w212 coupe and cabriolet. Not gonna fool anyone by sticking an AMG badge. IMHO, I guess most people change the badges to show others that they have a higher valued car. It'll be kinda pointless I guess if you can see through and know if it's not authentic.

At the end, still agree with wishbone, it's your car, do whatever you want as long as you enjoy it!

well asians love to do badge swapping from my observation, the americans hate it from what ive read on forums.

my personal opinion is if u wanna change badges, maybe change to something related to yr car, so at least it makes sense or looks unique.

like if u got a brabus kit, put brabus, wald put wald, black series get the black series badge, mkb tuning put on mkb badge etc. Then at least it becomes unique.

amg badge? erm personally i think its overused, like 3 outta 10 C180's slap on a amg badge and it gets tacky after a while.

I mean look at it this way, your soccer betting unker picking his nose and limming his kopi probably has an amg badge as well, just cos his friends have it.

getting a unique identity is key? i guess...

What about those who full original AMG options upon purchase (except the engine of course), is that considered "not authentic?

In the first place, there is no way to spec the car up to be exactly like an AMG equivalent model. Is there an option to select the authentic AMG BBK, or authentic AMG wide body kit from factory that I don't know about? Options like AMG sports kit and carpets don't count. Badges like C63, E63, SLK55, AMG, etc. only comes with the authentic AMG models no? Has Mercedes ever badged a non-AMG car regardless of whatever options selected with AMG badges from the factory? Pardon me if I'm wrong and ignorant about this.

Like Henry said, got brabus kit, put brabus, AMG body kit put the AMG badge, black series get the black series badge, mkb tuning put on mkb badge to match up with the car. It's just my opinion anyway, find it funny when the badges don't match up with the car. Want to fake a badge, should fake it in a way others can't tell! At the end, still do whatever makes you happy, nobody is here to judge how you spend your money.

My car came with full AMG options from factory but still stated 7-Gtronic. LOL... BUT you can get C&C to change that into AMG badge. :) They've got the stencil.

Power bro. FULL AMG options. Must have cost alot of money for all the options and also a long wait due to the customise car requirements.
