the new E certainly looks fresh!  Overall, the E is definitely more comfy.  To really appreciate you gotta sit behind to understand.  The 5series, F10, I own one, has been trouble free since day 1.  No issues with the car.

It is all a matter of how comfortable you are and do test the cars yourself to get a full objective view.  This is truly personal and only you can connect with the car.

Hi Bros,

A friend of mine asked me whether he should get the BMW 5 series or Mercedes E-class. Which is a better car?

i drove the F10 less than a year and had it changed to W212.

No doubts the exterior looks and electronic functions are very attractive on the F10 BMW.

Lots of mods available for F10. i did quite a lot to make it look even cooler than stock.....but i couldnt live with the drive feel.

The drive of the W212 for me outbeats the F10.

i am happily driving my w212 for 2 years plus now.

Bro, get your friend to test drive and test drive till he gets the answer for himself. :)

By the way, when you trade in your F10, did C&C give you a good trade-in value?

for premium makes this kind of unreliability is not acceptable

no wonder daffy says buy toyota ...

Just a matter of hard luck.... Ask zai zai... his E-coupe has disco thermo gauge....

some Bimmers can last the whole 10 year cycle without major faults,,, while my friend's F10 stays in hospital for 2 months in the first 3 months he had the car....

Heard of some Merc broke down within a month of collection.... So IMHO it's just whether you are heng or sway.....

I had a 523i

For a 2.5l engine, I expect more respond.

The car could be built around too much comfort that the stock suspension is very soft on some expressways corners n bends.

I bought the 1st batch. Therefore no folding mirrors as standard. Had to pay 15k for folding side mirrors, larger rims etcetc.

When I compare against my prior car before F10 was a c200k. The drive n control is not to my satisfaction for my f10.

Well, to each driver will experience and feedback differently that's why it's important for your bro to test drive till convinced.

There are also many good points on F10 like:

Nice chassis looks

Many new technologies in the car

Lots of aftermarket accessories

8gear is a very smooth ride.

Well, I must say I didn't lost money cos the COE was going up.

The deal for my w212 was also to my satisfaction.

The ride....I am very happy till today.

O...I did ask to trade in my 523i to a same age/batch of 535i. The price they quoted me is horrible. More than the diff if you we're to compare new 523 vs 535. I simply gave up.
