Need Advice - Anti-Theft System

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Was at a workshop the other day and the boss recommended me a new Anti-Theft Braking System for my CLS350.

As I travel to M'sia quite often, the Anti-Theft System seems very interesting to me, and I'm very tempted to install.

But I am worried that there might be some electronic cock up or upside down after installing the Anti-Theft System.

The Anti-Theft System works like this in brief..

It locks all 4 brakes after you off the engine and lock the car.

So even if the thief managed to unlock my car, start the engine, the thief also cannot drive my car away.

Even with a tow-car, the thief also cant tow my car away..

Unless the tow-car can lift the 4 wheels of my car off the ground, then they can tow (steal) my car away..

Honestly, I duno hw they actually connect the system, but I am worried it will affect my ECU or the electronic system in my car,

so I need advise if I install this system, will my electronic system of my car go hay-wire..

Can someone pls advise if it is advisable to install???

Thank you.

Bro,

IMHO, I will not consider such anti theft system that work with the brake system. Imagine the risk of locking the 4 brakes mulfunctionally when the car is moving.......

That is what I am worried about.. so still hesitating..

Are you using any Car Alarm?

Any good ones to recommend?

bro, seems like they have some tie-up with malaysian police.

possible to use it to get help too?

every month $10 regardless of car make?

there a yearly sub of abt $165. $10 is a day of proactive monitoring while u want them to activate. My understanding is that they have the contact and know 'who' to contact in MY when needed. Tracker is transferable when changing ride. To me a small price to pay for a piece of mind.

U may find out more from them.
