Help! "Transmission - visit workshop"

Dunbine

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Need some advise and help on a transmission issue with my B200.

Was driving yesterday when an indicator message popped up "transmission Visit workshop". My car went into limp mode and lost steptronic control and car became jerky.

I then pull the car to the road shoulder and switch off the engine. Waited for a short while before reigniting the car engine.

Thereafter the drive became smooth.

But then it happened again this morning and twice after work.

I'm frustrated and at a loss. I've read overseas merc forum and this issue doesnt seem to be good and going to be costly repairs.

Any kind bros out there who had similar encounter before and if so how did you solve it?

TIA!

Might need Gearbox overhaul....It will take a few days of downtime even at outside workshop.

Please visit your workshop before u need to replace your whole transmission and gearbox

The world Most dangerous thing is the Vehicle. Its not about the machine weather its slow or fast. Its the person who is controlling it. The driver is the brain of the Machine. Not the machine itself.

If the driver reacts slow even the most powerful ABS(Auto braking system) will not help. The driver has to give the car the command in Order for the car to react. Afterall he is the brain of the car.

It's likely only a sensor that's gone kaput. Cheap cheap. If you restart car and it's still not moving or jerky then you know you're in trouble. Happened to me on my previous jag and all it took was a $80 sensor to get it up again. Happy to recommend my mechanic if you haven't got a regular yet.

Hi MV Dennis,

I have the same problems as Dunbine,

I has an 2006 B200 and I went to a few mechanic, finally just got it checked with cycle & carriage, they said it was the transmission vavle body needs to be replaced costing $4300! If it is just a sensor, I would really appreciate if you could pass me your mechanic info.

Thanks,

Kai

update to this thread which i started. went to a couple of workshops but couldnt get it fixed except for a transmission specialist which quoted me SKY HIGH repair price! It was way above what was quoted by C&C.

in the end, went back to C&C to get it fixed...

Hi all, my pre-owned B200 also having this problem last week. Only take over the used car for 4 months.

Went to diagnosis at Alexandra workshop, apparently is the Transmission Valve / Solenoid need to be replaced.

Can someone recommend a reliable spare parts dealer for replacement? Cos the  workshop I went can't get stocks for the parts,

they said it will take 3 weeks to order...

Appreciate your help !

Apparently mine also went kaput.

Would you guys know of a stockist for the sensor? Did a diagnostic and the sensor was indeed flashing "X".

Sometimes I call the stockist, they say they don't really stock and B class parts. Just only the parts that are common.

Anyone know of a good lobang?

Thanks buddys!

Nope its just the A and B classes of Mercedes are lesser in Singapore.

Most people goes for C, E,SLK and S

I believe CLS , G, SL, SLS do face the same issue as well

After a few calls, it seems this part number 1693701106 is totally out of stock in this country. In fact, orders have been placed since a month back and no one has yet got it.

Apparently its a controlled part.

Anyone got lobang??
