Hi all,

 

俗语说无事不登三宝殿，I know I seldom post here but I hope you'll can give some good advise or help here.

 

 I was queuing to get in Sentosa today and there was a toyota vios in front of me. Suddenly, the driver engaged reverse gear & reversed into my car.

 

Got out of car and the other party had 6 young malays or indians in their group.

 

Asked for the drivers particiulars & how they are going to compensate then they started to become intimidating. Argued that I failed to keep 1 car length distance (WTF???) so not their fault.

 

One of them insist that I pay them $1,000. All acted like gangsters.

 

In the end they didn't give particulars & drove off.

 

My front grill dented in & bumper seems intact but scratched and out of alignment.

 

Any advise what I can do?

Previously got rear ended by a van and turned out the van had no valid insurance.

 

cannot claim. 

 

police say no need make report.

 

in the end I email director TP/director LTA/MP then police willing to start investigation. After almost 1 year sent me a letter saying "gave the van driver a STERN warning"

 

WTF.

one word.... CAMERA..... it helps u save all the hassle..... But I do know there are cameras around that area... but will take alot of effort to get the videos...

For the first instance, do you have the VRN? If you have to make a police report.....if police say no need to make police report...then go to MP....

With regards to second instance, ask TP/LTA, how can a vehicle be driven without valid insurance? If can be driven, then what is the protection for all the other road users?

You will have to be firm and tell TP/LTA that all that you will go to the press....

They will relent.....if you have camera, better for the claim......

But u can get a lawyer to sue the ass off off the owner... he got no case to fight... but let's put it this way... it's better to forget than sue him cos lawyers very costly.... and not worth the damages....

This is consider hit and run, u can report to police. Then after go and get it repair and claims against them by furnishing the VINS nos. Let the insurance company to handle it. However they will deny and likely end up court case etc. if you want to save the hassle justvget it repair as the damage is likely around $500 or less as u can get a used grille abt $200 and bumper respray like $250. Hope this help.

The world Most dangerous thing is the Vehicle. Its not about the machine weather its slow or fast. Its the person who is controlling it. The driver is the brain of the Machine. Not the machine itself.

If the driver reacts slow even the most powerful ABS(Auto braking system) will not help. The driver has to give the car the command in Order for the car to react. Afterall he is the brain of the car.

Some driver cut into my lane outta nowhere and jam braked straight in front of me, almost causing me to rear end him/her.  There was no car in front of it for the driver to do so except it was an act of malicious intent.   :growl:  I reported the incident to TP and sent in the clip as evidence.  When I enquire on the status one month later only did TP inform me that they couldn't open the clip I emailed over (huge file size due to HD format) and I sent in a thumb drive with the clip directly to the TP office in charge.  I'm still waiting for TP to complete their investigations and get back to me on the outcome else I will continue to send them gentle reminders once a fortnight.

Must give TP the chance to cho gang mah... They even made me confirm in writing that I would be willing to testify in court if need be before they accept the case.

 

Can always earn that $50 from STOMP later...

 

If TP bothers to issue summons to drivers for failing to signal, I don't see why they could let drivers get away with acts of malicious intent like these.

 

Another thing guys, pls rem to keep a spare SD card and swop out the cards being used in the IVR to prevent any important clip get overwritten.

1. Yes lawyer very expensive. previous case sent letter of demand $500 like throw tissue paper useless one. then if want to file a writ need to deposit $10,000 for lawyer to "Start work".

 

2. Damage can repair myself but what i'm afraid of is him CLAIMING AGAINST ME by lying through his teeth.

 

3. Any good in car video cam to recommend? best if its small, good installer can't see wire, and HD.

Pls make a police report if you have not done so.  Trust our authorities who will invs accordingly if he start claiming against you.

 

Any idea why the Vios decides to reverse - wrong lane? blind spot? Not familiar with manual car? Purposely to harras you?

Got...after multiple email reminders over 3 months, TP finally responded they had taken action against the driver for the offense of Careless Driving under Road Traffic Rule 29.  I will ask for more details when I meet the officer to collect my thumb drive back.
