Reverse sensor: weird things happened

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys, need some help here.

I cam back from overseas trip. Drove my E200 today. Did reverse parking. To my surprise, the reverse sensor gave a continuous beep when the rear bumper is still a distance away from the wall (maybe 1m). Didn't remember I have this problem last week.... Weird.

Do you know if sensors are spoilt and need replacement or is it a setting? Can't find in instruction manual.

Any help appreciated.

If your ride do not have the Parktronics but reverse sensor, then it's fitted locally by Tomo-CSE.

CnC till today out-sourced their reverse sensor installations to them.

You might want to pay them a visit!

  • 2 months later...

Did this problem return? My E class is also having the exact same problem.

Occasionally, the sensor would beep continuously saying its too close as I engage reverse but this usually resolves by going into N and reverse again.

After a heavy rain yesterday, it just gives me a continuous beep all the time on reverse. Not sure what the issue is. Maybe a short circuit.

Hope it won't cost too much to rectify.

My S280 exprience this issue and it appear that one of the sensor went inside. so they have to shift it back to the usual position.

The world Most dangerous thing is the Vehicle. Its not about the machine weather its slow or fast. Its the person who is controlling it. The driver is the brain of the Machine. Not the machine itself.

If the driver reacts slow even the most powerful ABS(Auto braking system) will not help. The driver has to give the car the command in Order for the car to react. Afterall he is the brain of the car.
