If I remember correctly, the paper air filter, see&see will charge you something like S$120-150. Exhorbitant.

Installed my K&N. Yes, breathes better.

Cleaned and oiled it liked every 20k.

In the long run, it saves you $.

Thus, in my opinon, why not for a after-market air filter?

Void insurance? Unless you are prone to claiming it.........changing air filter is a very easy DIY task which only involves using the correct hexangonal sized key yea.

Is that mean the K&N filter is oily? Not recommended for Merc?

Please advise...

Yap K & N has oil on it. After cleaning u nned to dry & oil need to setel down the oil before installing. If the the AFS will be affected not only for merc all car models the same.

U need to keep your original filter during the cleaning period.

$120-$150 for a paper filter ? wow ... blood sucker to the max !

I just bought Hurricane SS filter, just wash & dry, no need to oil ...

Was told K&N if over oil, excess oil will get sucked in, spoil sensor or something. Was also told SS filter allow fine particles to go thru' (unlike K&N that oily filter will stick the tiny particles), result in dirtier EO faster.

I chose SS filter over K&N cos no need to oil, and hopefully cheaper than changing papaer filter over the years. Improve in performance I don't think so lah :)
