Reasonable and Reliable servicing workshop?

thanks i called up and they told me abt 1.3k? i was stunned ..maybe i heard wrongly.. but warranty only left 6 months...

You didn't hear wrongly bro. 30,000km servicing is thereabouts. But u can opt for basic oil change only. Many things can happen in 6 months. U never know (wear and tear).

Hi I also use chip soon at tampines for many yrs on my E class, BMW 730li n now S class. Jason is the right guy to assist u. Reasonable price. Cheers Allen

Hi Allen,

Great to know that someone here uses the same workshop. Btw, are you driving a w220 or w221 now? Sort of interested in the w221 but heard that this model got more problem than w220 and on terms of maintenance, have to pay much more.

Regards

Information for all,

Just completed my 60K with C&C. In addition, had oil leak in engine and a air con full service. - $2.7K

Official price from their website for 60K is $1.7 to $2.7K. This excludes any other work.

Ouch ouch...My brake change was done at 50K.

Rgds

60K depends on what you do. Previously I did my 65K on my E200K and change

1) ATF

2) Coolant

3) Spark Plugs

4) Engine servicing

5) Aircon servicing

All in around $900++. All parts included. This is at StarBlack.

My brother did his 60K just last week.. starblack, normal servicing $300 + -

But StarBlack ask him to change the brake pad + rotor and some seals.. pipes and stuffs.. I think around additional $1,800.

Thanks bro, I intend to go to Star black for my 60K servicing. What you listed are useful references. Thanks

wow.. got money also should not be spent this way leh.. are they thinking all car drivers name are mr roberto carrot head..

is it possible to tell them to skip certain items at the 30k 60k 90k, etc?

anyone knows what that 'engine servicing and aircon servicing' do? look look see & see only?

my previous car boh chap everything, only done the usual oil/filter and wear/tear changes, i also redlined that bugger very often. till i sold it off at 5.5yr old, 120k km, it was still working well.

and yes.. aircon was totally neglected. also cold as ever.

I m on w221 now 07 model. I Asked the car dealer to bring the car to chip soon n Jason inspected the car Foc. Told me many part hv been changed by 1st owner including new set of air suspension which cost ~$5k. So bought it straight away n Low depreciation of ~$18k p.a. Lookout for good unit on sgcarmart.

Hi Allen,

Thanks for your feed back. Saw a few W221 being service there maybe one belongs to u :) Daniel was the one who told me that W221 has more maintenance issue. Also, being told by my ex boss W221 turning circle much wider than W220. He got lots of scatches entering narrow space. Anyway, 18k depreciation is really a gd buy. Saw one 350 going at this rate and make me itchy.

  • 4 years later...

go to chip soon auto.

dis the one.

collected my pre love E250 & normally, when i take over a used car, prepare meself a couple of Ks to flush dis, clean dat, replace anything dat

dun looks good.anywae, pre own,u 've alrady save quite a bundle&nvr, never believe what's the dealer tells u(all con men)dun worri brader, dis car is driven by an old auntie, who only drive to d market,no need to do anything, one.

u dun need to open the bonnet also!!!!!

u 're right????

anyway,to cut a long story,short.

i noes my way around mercs,own a w204 for a while,check out a few shops,can safely say,i overservice my c class!

juzz abt settle down with kompressor(ali)but there's only 1 mechanic there,so sometime,a problem.

so a week before collecting my latest, text a few places, call a couple of w/shop with my mileage of 82000(dis,my god,is a topic for another day)

asking for a recommendation of what to do@dat kilometre?

not a unsensible question but almost all places gives me a generic answer like u come down lah, need to go thru yr car, than we advised accordingly

wheras CS(pop in last week, after hearing so much abt them to make an appointment)dey whip out a list of must do item,B service for 60k,quite comprehensive which incidentally,i alrady map out  to do,tells me basically its a format copied from c&c .

in case u 're wondering, yes, there's a couple of mechanic previouly from there too.

there's a few things,i need to sort out, after driving for 3 days, like something as simple as adjusting the CLOCK(what d hell, can't figure out, which knob to what button)

how to switching on the DRL to who's the clown dat dim(anti glare function) out the rear view mirror&the rh side mirror!

dat might sound mundane but i nearly hit a malaysian bike last nite due to his headlight not working!

needless to say,all been sorted,i'm a happi chappy looking forward to enjoying my pfl w212 from now onwards.

all thumb up to dis place👍

Just to share. Plan to do engine mounting and also check on the loud sound when I am reversing or turning when going down mscp.

Went to a workshop in Sin Ming who check and told me need to change lower arms that cost around 1k.

Went to 2nd workshop in Toh Guan on friend's recommendation and inform the mechanic of the sound. He did a check and advised is supension issue. I raised my concern that will it be lower arms as to avoid changing wrong parts. He assured me that lower arms is in good condition.

Went ahead for the change of supension and engine mounting. I am glad that issue is solved and at a much reasonable price. Found out that this guy used to work at Tampines and have good knowledge of Merc and Bemmer.

Cheers to Ah Xiong of JCWC located at Enterprise Hub.
