Good afternoon.

Anyone know whether a complete set (4 pcs) of OEM Brembo Brakes (4 pots) taken off from a Porsche Cayman can fit into a 2004 CLK200 cabriolet?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Good afternoon.

You need to check what rotor diameter size, thickness, offset, mount type radial or axial etc the Brembo brakes off the Porsche were made to work with. You're also likely to need custom brackets to fit these on your car. The other main issue would be if your existing brake master cylinder generates enough pressure to work the 4 pots.

If you're after a better brake feel, the most cost effective method I would suggest would be changing your stock brake pads to aftermarket ones designed for a sportier application. The aftermarket ones usually provide an improved bite and brake pedal feel. You may also wish to refresh your brake fluid to the appropriately rated one (DOT4 ATE Super Blue Racing is bang for buck, maintains high boiling point even after prolonged use) and check existing rotor condition to see if the rotors need resurfacing.

Suggest you just buy the appropriate AMG brake system that fits your CLK if you wish to upgrade for bling factor.

BTW, BBKs do not necessarily reduce stopping distance. Usually the larger calipers, rotors, discs and uprated brake pad compound work together to provide consistent brake performance under stress ie, tracking by efficiently dissipating heat.
