Tuned up my C180 CGi

Hi all,

Just wanted to share my experience with you all!

Installed a European brand piggy-back tuning box(plug and play) for CGis 1month plus ago. Below is the verdict.

BEFORE INSTALLATION:

1)Moving at low speed, low rpm(below 1600) always presents a "under powered" feeling. You feel it sometimes "shiver"

2)Response from trottle inconsistent when flooring the pedal, sometime it just take too long to respond!

3)drive feel can be a little "jerky"

4)dyno run shows 158HP(flywheel) 278Nm Torque

AFTER INSTALLATION:

1) Noticably, no more under powered feel at low RPM! Smooth acceleration! Best of all, no more shivering!

2) Noticably improves trottle respond! Especially in sports mode.

3) Drive now feels super linear! Can't feel transmission!

4) (this shocked me) dyno run after: 213HP(flywheel) 378Nm torque!!!

It is same for both sports and comfort mode. Did 5 runs on gear 3. Was all identical result.

I can recommend if u guys are interested. Btw, I don't work for the workshop.

Just want to share my joy. And best of all, it is AFFORDABLE. And it's not easy to find mods like this for CGis.

dyno not included.:becky:

PM if interested.

Cheers,

Zac

Sounds good bro!!

Btw, what was wheel hp and torque?

I am assuming your cgi c180 is stock ie. Paper air filter, stock plugs etc

I tune up my own ride so I know you must be enjoying yours :)

Dear all,

Sorry for the late reply. Im not always on SGmerc. =p

Btw, here are some of the question to you queries.

1. I'm on stock. except for suspension, Rim and air-filter.

2. Brand and details of the chip I can probably reply you guys via Whatapps.

9740 4402

3. I did not do anything to the exhaust. (dyno guy did tell me to do surgery on pipe. probably can acheive another 10% gain) don't know how true. lol.

promises to reply to whatapps when i can! =)

*and btw, just to re-inforce, I am NOT promoting the chip. I'm just sharing personal experience. =)

do it at your own risk. :becky::bounce:

cheers all!

Just got my new ride, am experiencing the same "underpower" feel when the car is starting to move. I am not sure it would be better after run in, any bro other there can comment ? Thank you.

Whats yr ride?

I have the experience when driving in the E mode. You can try installing a TRD first. It reduces the drag and improve drivability of the car. If not satisfied, then throw in a piggy back tuning box. If still not satisfied, then think you must change engine liao. Lol.

Does the tunning solve both the sluggish drive in the lower gear and increase the power/torque/FC? Or I have to get both to achieve both the outcome?

Since my ride is 1.6L Turbo, the tuning may not push up the power/torque. Any idea?

Hi Paladin

May I know what is your ride? Can share how much the monster tuning had push up the power/torque/FC in your ride?

Thank you.

My ride is the same as yours. I did not do the dyno test so dont know the increase. FC no significant differnce.
