Track 1 - Listen for the punch from the percussive bass and the ring of the steel drums

Track 2 - Listen for the clarity in Cash's distinctive voice and for his guitar to sound natural and free of any coloration

Track 3 - Listen for Jones' voice to sound natural and centred in front of you

Track 4 - Listen for strong vocals and for the instruments to be set across a wide sound stage

Track 5 - Listen for clarity in Keys' vocals and spacious background sound

Track 6 - Listen for the clarity and dynamic range during the opening guitar solo and of course the powerful drum beat

Track 7 - Listen for powerful, accurate bass beats, even at full volume

Track 8 - Listen for clear, intelligible lyrics over the powerful, persistent bass beat

Track 9 - Listen for the enveloping ambience of the song, building on the openness and dynamic vocals

Track 10 - Listen for the ambience and staging as the children's chorus is offset by powerful bass

Better if you listen to tracks you're already familiar with and tweak according to your own taste. :)

Tracks 3 and 6 very familiar and often used in tuning. Not sure about the rest man.

i agree ... i dun particularly like norah jones :becky:

if you like to test vocal recordings, try Jane Monheit's "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" or basically any tracks from Pink Martini ... those are great vocal recordings. :becky:
